Skills

Black_Canary15
I'm new to playing elder scrolls online and I'm slightly confused with what I should really be using my skill points on. My class is nightblade so my assassination and shadow skill level is almost to 20. I'm doing pretty good with two handed weapons and heavy armor but my main question is should I be focusing on the other skills as well so my character is well rounded?

    Hi mate.
Long story short: Learn every skill and level every armor and weapon type available. Even if you think you'll never use it ... ever.

A good way to level stuff you dont wanna use is put in on your bar when you finish a quest. That way, the skills are leveling with your quest XP without interfering your normal combat.

Also wear 5 pieces of one armor type (usually medium as nightblade), 1 Heavy and 1 Light. That way, you'll level all Armor types as well while keeping all important armor passives.
Jeckll has quit the game. Thanks for the great time.

Focus your class lines first, your primary/secondary weapon lines second.

As you max/morph skills, swap them out with others from the line. You can even morph-only respec and try the other morphs as well.

By the time you hit L50, your class lines will likely be maxed (as well as all the skills), as well as both weapon lines.

At L20, you're still getting a feel for your character, so try everything. You're too fresh in the game to worry about correct/incorrect choices, as you'll have a chance to try them all and define your character from there.

Once you hit VR, you can always tinker with the other skill lines/weapon lines you didn't use coming to to L50.

Unless you absolutely feel a skill isn't one you'll use, keep it on there until it's maxed. You'll have plenty of opportunity to find more skyshards to accommodate other skills in the place of ones that don't fit your playstyle.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

There's an app called Swap-Swap skills. It lets you setup skill bars so you can quick swap between fights. I also use it to setup one bar with the skills I want to level but aren't using at the moment. Then before turning in a quest I swap skills to the ones I want to level, turn in quest, then swap back.
