I don't understand how to use force pulse?

It states that it will only damage enemies if they were already affected by burning/chilled/concussed effects. As a lvl 16 sorc, how do I burn/chill/concuss a whole group of enemies in order to use this?

    One method, use lightning splash aoe on a group of mobs then follow with force pulse. Shock causes concuss. Basically you aoe a group, and follow with fp.

    Used to be great to follow impulse. The changes in this patch considerably lessen the chance of concussion, making this combo much less useful.

    It still does normal damage, it just does extra damage to enemies affected by those effects. It also has a chance to cause tjose affects.

    You can dot them with impulse which has a 55% chance to apply the effect you need (with the elemental force passive). Likewise with the passive your force pulse has a 55% chance and light attacks have a 15% chance to apply it as well - so a light attack/force pulse weave has a total 70% chance per rotation.

    Are you sure that impulse has 55% to apply effect?

    Patch 2.1 :
    Standardized the chance an ability has to apply a secondary effect, such as burning, chilled, or concussed. These chances are:
    Weapon enchants 20%
    Standard ability 10%
    Area of effect abilities 5%
    Damage over time abilities 3%
    Area of effect damage over time abilities 1%

    Yeah.. I read this after. So it's actually

    20% chance with force pulse (inc. elemental force passive)
    10% chance with liquid lightening (inc. elemental force passive)
    40% chance with weapon attack with shock damage enchant (inc. elemental force passive)

    Sounds like a move yoda or a skywalker might employ against an opponent

    Crushing shock is a very good morph though, you could just respec and change it :)
