uncapped resources destroyed this game, very sad
sure stamina builds were slightly under par, but only because they didn't have a heal. dodge roll was not a problem, streak was not a problem, blocking was not a problem, getting one shot was not a problem, etc.
why? did these things not exist or something? I mean what happened?
you had to make sacrifices, tanky people did no damage and you could run them out of resources cause they had no regen. same with bolt escape and dodge roll, just not enough regen. one shot builds DID in fact exist but had NO resource management or defense, glass cannons. hybrid builds existed that combined various aspects of all of this but did not focus on anything in particular, and they worked.
sure some minor tweaks needed to happen, vigor would have made stamina competitive, DK finally got its nerfs, classes needed slight tweaks here and there but you almost had it.
and now here we are. . .it only goes downhill every patch, sure you fixed nirn and sharpened maces etc, (AFTER 6!! MONTHS, have you heard of patches?) but you ruined a bunch of other stuff.
the champion system was a neat concept, but it broke the game as well, you removed softcaps, and added infinite progression, then acted confused when people were able to do various actions like dodge roll, block, bolt escape, heal, do damage, etc, indefinitely. . .really?
the worst part is all evidence points to ZOS being to proud to admit mistakes and fix the game, we are all going to continue to suffer because of your pride, such a shame.
in closing, 1.5 was the closest this game will ever be to perfect balance wise.

1.5 was bland and boring.
It desperately lacked content. Now we have it. I much prefer this over that mindlessly boring game it was before.

going back to 1.5 is just like asking Blizzard to make a Vanilla WoW server Not going to happen
While I liked 1.5 and hated 1.6 this latest version is the best so far imho.
Performance overall seems better for me as well with the exception of loading times/hanging when entering delves.
I'm actually liking things the way they are now and it has also diluted the impact of the CP system. No more instagibbing and now CPs while allowing for more diversity in builds are not overpowering.
I'm liking it so much that I've actually re-subbed where prior I was very close to moving back to another MMO.
