I've never created any thread here in ESO's forums, but this latest "0 stamina regeneration while blocking" update just destroyed tanks in PvE! I had to voice my disappointment.

Please ZOS if you read this, give us back our pre-update 7 PvE tanks. Stamina regen should not have been nerfed in any situation anyway. It's already a pool that governs weapon skills, rolling, sprinting and blocking.

And please please do NOT make some half-hearted attempts to fix this (such as -x% stamina regen while blocking,) no! Just remove the nerf completely.

P.S. To those who exclusively play PvP, just know that this update utterly destroys tanks in PvE. So, consider that before blindly defending the nerf.

@aialghannam_ESO @Wing Rumor has it that PVE's tanks are currently held hostage by the emperors of Cyrodil, and locked away "safely" in Molag Bal's prisons. The same is to be said of the location of PVE's Nightblade dodge rollers.

They could've updated the new battle roar with a 0% stamina regen upon block as the complaints that led to the nerf was all about perma blockers.

If they did it as what I described above then we'd have the PvE group satisfied as well as the PvP group satisfied instead of just appealing to one audience.

To clarify, "Battle Roar" is a Dragonknight passive. What you may be refering to is the Battle Spirit buff in Cyrodiil.

That aside, I do agree with that statement. It would satisfy both groups. However, this nerf does NOT kill PvE tanks. I'm not sure most have noticed, but a healer can essentially heal through most anything but getting one shot by a boss. This is pointing at the DPS. Stack 17k-20k+ health and you wont have an issue as long as the healer is doing their job.

Now look at tanks. Probably wearing all heavy armor or at least a 5 piece. I myself have 27k armor and spell resistance UNBUFFED. I can simply walk into a group with my taunts, talons, and vigor and not holding block but for a couple instances.

It is a little different from before, but this doesn't break tanking. Learn to adapt or die. Simply put.

So we have to adapt to a horrible mechanic update because a small amount of tanks say its fine, adapt? When only the top tanks can "adapt" then you alienate most of your tanks. This just snowballs into most people not being able to find a tank to do dungeons/trials so they quit playing altogether.

Actually, the minority are the ones that come and whine on the forums. Sure, most of the people I know don't care for the change, but they're learning how to make it work.

I was unhappy (to put it mildly) with this boneheaded decision. But I decided to create a magicka tank because light armor got such a buff that I thought it might be practical and it's working quite well. Just ran the silver pledge with a PUG and did great. It needs some work but I think it'll be a good build. But sorcerers shouldn't be capable tanks, that's just so silly. But it's what we get when ZOS tries to "balance play" and mucks up everything instead.

I can tank in the new update equally good in the PvP and PvE. It's possible even using same skills as before (expencive caltrops) but boring.

So I support to rollback the nerf.

    Just do it!

V16 Templar tank here. It is indeed still easily possible to tank. It got much harder, but if you just throw in a few charged attacks it will be fine. Today i healtanked V16 EH and tanked V16 WGT without problems. You need to adjust to this change, but i agree that it is quite strange. Though i can kinda understand it (from an PvE perspective). Tanks almost never needed a healer anyways, so that may be another reason? Anyways, i do cannot follow the logic behind this attempted fix. Seems kinda offputting for new tanks to me (or tanks in general).

Do you mean Magicka builds or Sorcerer class? I've played a Sorc Tank since launch and have a lot of fun with it. The issue is that ZOS named the class Sorcerer, so most people understandably label is a caster class and call it good. They could have used better names for the classes because they were so intent on showing off how any class could play any role.

He's a sorcerer running a magicka tank build in 5/2 light/heavy armor. Shielding out the wazoo, relies on getting Dawnbreaker up quickly for DPS, can sustain for ever without heals. It's quite a bit of fun, actually.

This is actually amusing. I for one would quit if I wasn't having fun. That's the whole point in playing. Me saying learn to adapt or die isn't targeting those who can't adapt, but just a factual statement. If you don't learn the mechanics and outpace the mechanics of a dungeon, do you not die or at least have a harder time beating it? This isn't any different.

@aialghannam_ESO what sort of build are you running? I only ask because I run a stam regen tank build and was dreading logging in after the patch having read all of the threads about how tanking was now impossible. In the end I barely had to change my play style at all - just dropping block occasionally in big trash pulls - and was still able to dps as well as I used to.

I suspect if you're geared/specced for a high stam pool you may struggle as sure you can perform more actions/block longer before you run out, but when it's gone you're going to be waiting a long time to be able to do anything again.

As a NB tank this update my build is FUBAR. AT least in PVP. Sap's down the toilet and the lack of stam from being a magicka tank is just awful. I could get by before with regen but now. lol

Useless in PVP. Went back to 2h and bow stam build and now I can actually do something. I miss tanking, though.

Simply put, they punished PvE players for a "seemingly" op PvP mechanic! That's what's so stupid about this update. How about you simply prevent any use of any skill while blocking, that'll fix the allegedly op permablocking in pvp.

Oh I could stand there an block and taunt, but I used to be able to block a lot of damage but could pull mad DPS as a tank. Sap used to be so good and was what made a NB tank possible, but now...

I was mostly into PVP so I speced out of a tank build cause that's useless in pvp now.

You don't look your stamina ? You probably have a really good healer or you need to l2P (you should have notice it alone by playing and you should have changed your build to play with it)

Well, tanking is still possible but a lot less usefull for the group since we have less resources... and a lot more boring.
I don't find it's full to look at our stamina / magicka all the time to remain alive instead of watching what i can do to help my group.

If you want to make it fun, revert this change and increase the difficulties of the dungeons.

Make the tanks do more things instead of nerfing them and making them do less.
