See I got confused when you said it was coming August 31st but for the EU server it actually comes on the 1st of September.

Meh I guess this happens in every MMO.

It still comes out on August 31st US time. Zenimax is a US corporation.

So why do they have EU customers/servers if it's a US corporation then? And actually it comes out on September 1st EU time.

    I don't know why too.
If they realy have two serv, one in EU and one in NA, what's the probleme for uptaded the both at the same time ? Or same day at least. The difference about time in EU and NA isn't that huge.

I don't remember that Bli² ( for exemple) make their uptade for EU after the US.

They have to do the EU and NA at the same time for XBox and PS4, so they could do the PC/Mac ones at the same time. Obviously, since they are not doing this, it is not what they actually want to do. For whatever reasons.

Maybe they will change it... but my thought is if it was all the same to them, they would have done it already.

They did it at the same time originally, and suffered massive criticism for doing maintenance bang in the middle of EU primetime.

I was agreeing with the previous comments till I seen this one. I guess I would rather wait a bit later then have the servers drop during peak times.

They dont do it, because the same time would mean for EU 14:00, the Server would go down for ~6 Hours.

So how much would you flame?

So a good thing would be to say 31 of August for US-server and 1 of September for EU-server instead of what was stated.

They do. Read the top of the forum.

While you do that, keep in mind that this is a regularly scheduled Monday event that is, for convenience, referred to as "patch day" for both EU and NA. Each player that cares knows when "patch start time" is for them, and if they don't know, they can simply do the time zone math. The language saying that it is on "Monday" may be less precise, but it means the same thing as "Monday for NA and Tuesday for EU" and takes up a lot fewer words.

Historical note... it took them forever to arrive at what we have now. For the longest period of time they could not decide how to state when the EU maintenance was going to start in term that EU would like. They finally have come up with a consistent way to put it that seems to be understandable.

If the EU server was down right now as well as the NA server, there'd be massive complaints - in England it's afternoon, it's a bank holiday, and it's tipping down with rain. If folks couldn't play ESO there would be grumbling.

ooh yes. in WOW Vanilla, we had the patches sometimes several days later. NA had always been first! I'm not sure about this last expansion, but as long as I played WOW with seriousness, NA had access to content first. Which wasa bit sucky for those attempting world first.

I thought it was coming out today. I don't mind waiting a day and seeing the US date in major advertisments, but I expected an article titled Imperial City Launch Details to include, y'know, details. Like when it's coming out in Europe. They have a European megaserver, so they should take zone differences into account when communicating with their European customers - or at least mention when they use the US time so I can make the calculation on my own. It's professional and helps avoid misunderstandings like this one.

I thought it was today because they said Monday on ESO live - not Monday for the US or anything like that. They just said Monday.

Anyway I won't be able to play much until next weekend and it doesn't hurt to have the US players warn us of any critical bugs - like us all going bald on login or losing all the fish from our bank accounts.

Getting it one day later is not a bad thing.

EU is the monarch and NA is our sacrificial food taster for poison. Been a few crash patches, that we or EU never even had to experience, because NA took the bullet one day earlier.

We also get 1 free day to plan head and prepare for victory. Access to patch notes before the patch actually launches, means you get solid info what to stack up on, buy and sell. Almost like cheating in some cases, like with the removal of forward camps.
