In-game content with physical merchandise

So I was playing assassins creed last night while ESO server was down. I was going through the achievements and costume unlocks when I was thinking. I know Bethesda and Zenimax do some in game content with purchase of physical merchandise. I just wish they did more of it. Especially for concise players since the plush guar you can buy is only currently redeemable on PC/MAC. It would greatly enhance the customization and give "credit" to those who spend quite a bit of money on physical collector merchandise. Myself, I have 2 statues and 3 on pre-order/delivery. I wish there would be in-game content associated with it like there is with Assassins Creed. It could be very simple to do. With the dragonborn, make a dragonborn armor, or character title. With Talos, make a custom Talos armor. Granted, I know the lore wouldn't mesh well having talos armor, but it's only armor, it's not like you are being reincarnated as Talos Stormcloak himself.

Thoughts?

They could have tied the trailer heroes costumes to the Pop! figures Funko is selling. That way, instead of hoping a few people buy them, Funko already covered the cost and they're a bonus to picking up ESO merchandise. Could have included exclusive ESO costume codes with the Skyrim Daedric Warrior and Whiterun Guard figures, too.

The "toy + digital content" model isn't all that bad. They're a little more expensive, but the physical item makes the cost feel justified.
