Why are there groups of people at Deathclaws lair?

XgrouchyterrorX
I made a couple of new characters and I see level 15s and 20 at a level 4 area? What are they grinding for? They keep messing up the quest.

That's all I've got. At that level they wouldn't be getting drops or experience off the kill.

Unless they're using Deathclaw as a leather farm.

If they're killing him repeatedly, you might want to go ahead and report them for farming and interfering with the quest. It probably won't provoke a response, but... still.

Yeah, I'd say either roleplayers or trolls. Either way they're interfering with the quest and should be ashamed.

It just sucks anyone trying to do that quest. Experienced or new players. If it is a farming spot for rawhide it's a pretty weak one.

I'm not sure, but if they're deliberately interfering with the quest, I think that's a reportable offense.

I'll give you a hint. We can leveling in Cyrodiil and came back in low level zones for quest we're missed. Cause of skyshards, skill points from quest rewards, achievements etc. You can easily see my new vr1 sorc in Stonefalls and Deshaan, questing. Not in Blearock (1-6 zone), but only because i already completed this zone.

It sounds like there was actually a cluster of people just one shotting the boss as soon as it spawned and continuing to do so repeatedly... which sounds more like griefing than coming back and hitting a lowbie quest you missed. I mean, I've been there, at V14 in stonefalls running a quest in civie gear, punching out ghosts, because it was one I missed... but, sitting there camping the boss?

Then maybe you meet an good old bots there. Because it was common first 2-3 months, before ZeniMax prevent solo gungeons boss farming by deleting their loot after first kill. Army of bots stayed on boss and killed it right after spawn. For soul gems and blue loot.

Its there again now (dunno about low level zones, but i farmed soul gems in Cyrodiil dungeons for 2 or 3 hours trying to catch boss i needed for achievement), so i guess... bot farming soul gems? Even low level soul gems can be worthy if you farm them being offline youself and sell hundreds of stacks of soul gems for golds to npc.

When ESO was young, bots just teleported when their bags was full. Now i dunno, vr14 can get a 170 rooms bag easily (110 bag + 60 horse). 170 stack sof low-level soul gems from no-dangerous one-shot poor bosses is like... i dunno, 200k gold between morining when you set up bot and going to work/school and afternoon when you came back, turn off bot and go on quests/dens/pvp? Per every bot?

And they ask why ESO economy is ruined again...

P.S. If no soulgems drop, then again, "leather farm" as starkerealm said. Leather is raw resource. About 2k gold per stack. Or you can refine it youself and get green (30g)/blue (70g)/purple (200g)/gold (3-4k gold) tempers.

Actually if there's a large group of people or just a handful of higher level players there just spamming attacks in the general area that the creature spawns, it's very likely it'll be killed before the OP can actually manage to land a hit. Deathclaw's a low level enemy only has maybe a few hundred health wouldn't take much to kill it. It could take several tries before the OP could actually manage to tag the mob and finish his quest so yeah they would be interfering with the quest because they're making it needlessly more difficult than it has to be.

It's a generally accepted rule that you don't kill named mobs unless absolutely necessary as they're most likely quest related. There are enough creature to grind for xp or farm for mats elsewhere, there is no good reason to continuously kill the same named mob for any length of time.

You can ask them like "hey, guys, WTF?". If no response, 90% that they are botters (and 10% for jerks). You can report them to in-game support with description what happens. Dont forget location ^^ GMs will check logs. 5 things to deside if they're bots:
    1) They stand on same positions and return on them after looting.
    2) They attack all in same time, like a half-second before farm mob spawns.
    3) They always using same attacks.
    4) They dont clear dungeons, ignoring all other mobs-for-loot.
    5) They just dissaper when bags are full (teleport without teleport animation).
    (6) They dont talk with you.)

1st is more than enough to report for botting. You can even make a video of that.

If someone say, you're a botter because you harvesting resources, call 'em [snip]. And say that you need mats for craft and they can suck your [snip]. There are TONS of resource nodes on every map, and they respawn like in 1-2 mins (but every node have 3-6 positions for spawn). Ppl just blind [snip].

Ran into a similar issue during the AD quest. I had to go into a portal to fry chickens and there were lots of vets killing all the chickens before I could use the quest wand on them. Left the quest and returned later and they were all away. Some people really are selfish when it comes to thinking of others. Probably some of the same people who come on here and complain about it when it happens to them.

To be fair, if I am grinding somewhere, I don't talk to people. I set myself to offline, I slug an ambrosia pot, I grind for 50 minutes and anyone who tries to interfere with that is an annoying little fly that I ignore.

Abmrosia pots have made people horrendously antisocial - no, if I am on an xp booster on a timer, I am NOT going to stop to say hi and have a nice chat with you. I don't actually care whether you think I am a bot, report me and let Zenimax sort it out. They introduced XP pots, it is not up to me to prove to every wannabe zone policeman that I am not a bot.

I saw a player standing in the same spot for 20 minutes while I was running around him harvesting modes. Once the chest appeared he immediately looted it and started running for another chest which I beat him to using my streak ability. A real player would have left but he didn't. I stayed in the area watching him while I was harvesting nodes and again he stood in the same spot, where I just harvested the chest, for 20 minutes. He wouldn't response to my attempts to communicate either.

Can you aggro a NPC to a bot? I was thinking that it might be possible to aggro a NPC and then have it chase you to the bot and drop a healing spell on the bot to bring it into the battle. It this possible? I haven't had a chance to try this strategy out.

Yeah to be honest I am long past the point of expecting to see any decent respect and co-operative play from people in this game - my personal bugbear is when I am out and about and some complete ... whatever... runs through on their horse and drops a load of mobs on me when I am trying to fish. OR when someone waits until I enter combat with some mobs and then sneaks past, chances are they will be complaining at some point that they don't seem to be leveling fast enough - yeah that's because you don't blooming well fight anything, you just wait for other people to do it all for you.

Anyway, as you were... *whistles nonchalently*

sorry i know im following this off topic, but i find some people in co-op very helpful and friendly. Me and some random didnt even group but we took out some Daedra crocodile men (pretty sure that's the technical term or daedroth?) and quested the same area together, but then you get "the other kind". Grinders who spam "move away now" when they are trying to drag away a mob you are actually engaged in fighting, or who will steal a chest from someone who failed to open it on their first try. Its just the way it is. some people are cool some people are not. I've not lost faith yet the other sort are a minority

People who "they dont seem to be leveling fast enough" are nothing more than lazy [snip]. Because hey, just get lvl10-15 and goto on pve in Cyrodiil. Fast leveling guarantee, like a week for 10-50 (vr1) and one more week for vr1-vr14. All you need is a guild/friend, who'll make/buy you a new staff and can re-send you costly loot from grinding. Just by pressing "return to sender" button, yey ^^

[Snip] happend, but, for example, I never sneak behind you. I'll attack those mobs from side while you're "tanking" them))) Loot is unique. You'll get you're loot, i'll get mine. And same with exp. Only way when i waiting someone to start combat is when i shouldnt wait more than 5-10 sec and i'm too weak to overkill mobs))) For example, my NB is weak in mass-fights. Cant fight more than 3-4 monsters in same time. And cant fight big ones if i cant controll them. Weak armor + uncontrollable = suicide for NB like me.

But now imma sorc with a tank like clanfear)))

Can you aggro a NPC to a bot? I was thinking that it might be possible to aggro a NPC and then have it chase you to the bot and drop a healing spell on the bot to bring it into the battle. It this possible? I haven't had a chance to try this strategy out.
I don't know if the healing to bring them into the battle works, but for mobs with AOE attacks you can totally pull them onto bots to kill the bots. Back in the days of the instantly-respawning-jute bug, I used to entertain myself in Stonefalls by pulling Netches onto groups of bots clustered around the jute nodes, slaughtering them all.

Usually, (in another game) you could drag a mob over, use a confuse or placate ability to shed aggro, and let the other player draw aggro.

But, ESO doesn't actually give you any tools to do that, so there's no placates, just taunts. Meaning you can't shove your aggro onto a player that's genuinely trying to stay out of whatever horrifically stupid thing you just did. It cuts the number of trolling options a player has enormously.
