Next update just a lazy "blanket patch"?

Got hit with a prox det in pvp for 29k today. Yes 29. Its clear that the game is unbalanced. Sorcs and nb run the show. Rather than take the time to balance classes they do a lazy blanket patch to nerf pvp dmg by 50%. That wont fix the problem. Theyre torn between fixing their current game or releasing new content that was promised long ago. Am I the only one thinking what the heck their staff does all day? Sorcs stack shields for 20k spammable hit 20k crystal frags (like the first skill you get in the game) and prox det for 29k then run bat swarm and steel tornado to wipe mobs and bolt away? Best dps best shield and best escape all in one class. **generalization, nb are very similar in terms of dominance its just done slightly different i.e. bow and dual wield. Perma invisible perma dodge roll** Its blowing my mind. Just lookin for ideas and feedback from people who may know more than me about this situation here with esotu and their crazy shenanigans. The point of this isnt to complain as much as it is to get genuine feedback from more experienced mmo players. Whadya think theyre doin with this game? Whats the heck is goin on? If youre gonna try to be tommy tough typer and call up the ole l2p crap please find something better to do with your time so I can have a genuine discussion.

Nightblade,counter= volcanic rune cast on yourself with healing ward.
Sorc counter is absorb magic, harness magicka and healing ward.

It suckz you have to build a counter around such cheese builds but its been like that forever.

They just make a new op build every few,months and watch the sheeple reroll as soon as a smart person figures out what is broken together in the new patch.,

Let us look at what caused it, Or more precisely who and what caused this

A contribution from players and Zenimax
Sharpened bug on maces, zenimax made the bug players implemented it
Nirn Stacking again zenimax created the bug. In addition, many profited off the Nirn sales and use of the gear.
Camo hunter stacking, and proccing way higher than intended.
Twice Born Mundus bug

The above is but a few of the issues allowed to simmer for 8 months or more.

In addition, more things like the exploits and hacks

"Everything is to Easy" this quote from a named gamer. Makes me lol. Yes, it should be easy considering that everyone is stacking Nirn, sharpened and camo hunter.

Anti Zerg, "proxy det" became the number one zerg tool. Followed by purge.
Removal of soft caps and the changing the Magic-health-stamina ratio from 1-5-1 to 1-1-1 had a big hand in the lessened TTK as well.
At 1.6 we had an exodus possibly at 1.7 we will have another.
Respect and Civility are victims as well. For a board with a code of conduct it seems that rudeness and insults are "opinion"
Posts are cherry picked and are not subject to the same standards. I ran across a name and shame while trying to convince my guild leader, we should stay and it pretty much summed up the axiom "some are more equal than others".

Zenimax you have a great game on your hands do not let the visions of a few ruin it for you. Financially, or otherwise. Socially you need to mature and learn to stick to standards you stipulate. Moreover, seeing that I am almost and am in some cases twice your age I can say this you need to "finish growing up".
When dealing with people you cannot discount their opinion and with customers, you certainly cannot cut them out of the loop to product changes. I see some attempts by staff and devs to answer questions and that is good. It is a start. Please try to improve this aspect of your outreach.
To others asking for minor changes and making incessant demands. This needs to be in a more constructive format. If you cannot speak honestly and with civility then, your posts probably get ignored by the devs.

A major patch should be for major changes and that is what we are getting. Minor patches are for minor changes. A time and place for everything; accord some patience and realize that zenimax has only so many people to work on the Elder Scrolls product line.

Nothing I have written is with malice. This is as fairly straightforward as I can be and I implore people to see this post as factual as the facts are provable.

I would think the types to help you would be the types who might be off put by blaming the "lazy blanket patch" instead of you looking for PvP tips. I would just ask for help, but I'm only in here because I thought you were giving out free blankets. I'm an idiot

Thanks thalmor that was informative and kind of makes me look a little dumb but still appreciated lol I dont claim to be the best pvper but I was just using specific examples to address a bigger issue. I have multiple vet characters I hold my own mostly in pvp. Enough so that even with these obviously op builds running around I still do well enough to have fun and continue to pvp. But I do indeed get rolled by some players utilizing these builds. Imo templars are a broken class in need of love. They can be dangerous in the hands of a good gamer whos put time in and or has cp points but thats just it is it takes a lot more effort to be good with em. The triple nerf they recieved was harsh. Sorcs and nbs run the show. Dks are kind of in limbo but from what ive heard way back when on early pc days the dk was op so maybe this is their revenge. My focus mainly was class balancing but there are other things I think they are lacking as a whole and you can find em all over these forums. From big to small it seems like problems are obvious to players yet painfully slow to be addressed by zos. I guess im a casual gamer usually about 3 hours a night so maybe I just dont know any better. But to me it seems like they released a crap game on pc, didnt realize weve been waiting for this for years, then covered their butts with updates since then. Its almost impressive how theyve remade the game completely with updates. But I get the feeling its hit a big stand still.

Yes ZOS needs to do a better job at the whole balancing thing cause Sorc and NB still able to melt players in the next update but U7 is hardly a blanket patch. They are changing alot of stuff adding new content and gear and so on.

Lee I was ballparking from what ive seen. I have a sorc but its a low level toon I made two weeks ago I dont have the personal experience yet.

The changes are not aimed at Sorcs and KB, but at the entire PvP system.

Longer fights = more fun

If they were just aimed at the two classes then heals would not have been affected

I guess as a generalization, in pvp, each class excels at somethin that ultimately saves them in bad situations. I.e. nb roll dodge and go invisible forever disappearing. Sorcs shield stack and bolt escape away. Dk r3flect and block everything. Accordingly, shouldnt templars be able to heal their way out of a bad situation then? With the dps these days its almost impossible to heal your way OUT of a bad situation. But thats why their mobility and escapes suck is cuz theyre the only class with a dedicated healing line. So even it up then and give the templars and even dk a way to answer these op sorcs and nb without having to develop an entire bar simply to survive an onslaught by one particular class. Also, small scale pvp, new content that was promised long ago, filling the empty threat that our in game decisions for pve have consequences when they dont. Not outside of that immediate quest anyway. Just a long list of things in my mind and until now theyve done well repairing them until recently. Just seems like theyre getting lazy and focusing on dlc before they even fix what they have.

All this complaining about the devs getting lazy, and you write a lazy post that doesn't quite grasp what they're actually doing. I mean, I can easily formulate an opinion based on a single item, but that doesn't really make a good opinion when all I can do is fall back on the one item that I introduced.

Also, be glad that everyone in PvP wont be running around with a free 15% stamina regen buff.

I agree with the OP. It seems @ZOS is content with trying to work around the actual problems than fix something. Shield stacking is a huge issue that isn't going to go away with this next patch. With our 50% DPS reduction, how are we supposed to cut through that near impossible shield? It's almost impossible to get through on Live, so how the h*ll are we going to do it with 50% less DPS????

@ZOS could have fixed that and all of the broken game mechanics that people use for exploits and everyone would be much happier with it. We'll have to wait and see if the lags fixed, but I doubt it. The PTS lags so much, it's not giving a good outlook for the live update next week.

Well im pretty sure they dont have peeps that actually play the game, and by play the game i dont mean 1 hour a day, really zos start play your game and find out some stuff for yourselves, and fix one thing at a time i think better than carpet bomb game evety patch

Bring back soft caps and this mess goes away. Then focus on balancing and fixing broken skills and bugs.
