Hey, I was wondering if you need to double bar a vampire ability to get the regen stats from the passives?

Yes as far as i know you need a Vampire Ability on your bar to get the benefits

so put Bat Swarm on 1 bar and another Vamp ability of your choice on the other if you want the benefits up all the time, orwise you will lose the regen when you swap to a bar that don't have a vamp ability or ultimate slotted on it. I think thats fair though.

"Here in his shrine, that they have forgotten. Here do we toil, that we might remember. By night we reclaim, what by day was stolen. Far from ourselves, he grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

You need a vampire ability in both your bar if you want the passive on these bar, yes. You don't need to have the same ability in each bar, you can have swarm in one bar and mist form in the second (and on a overload bar) for example.

Yes, just like toggle skills, you will need to have a vamp skill on both bars. WW would need to have their ult slotted on both bars.

But you do get the weaknesses all the time.

I'm not entirely sold on having to slot a vampire ability to get the benefits. Are the vampire abilities so bad compared to other choices that you wouldn't slot one? Basically they're saying:

    1. You will get weaknesses no matter what.
    2. You can get some benefits; but, only if you use one of these less attractive skills over some more desire ones.

    I would prefer:
    1. You will get weaknesses and the benefits ( you're trading a + for a - ).
    2. Here's some skills use them if they're a fit your fight/play style (not make it mandatory).

Yeah, personally I'm pretty disappointed about this change. I have been vamp since day one, but haven't used the active skills since I was a lowbie and running through quests solo. The active skills are pretty useless to me, but I keep vamp specifically for the passives. I have even grit my teeth through the ridiculous amount of fire damage, b/c I liked those passives. It looks like the weakness to fire may finally be reduced to a more reasonable amount with this new patch, but I may sadly still end up dropping vamp all together if I can no longer use the passives without taking up an oh-so-precious skill slot. It's just really disappointing - vamps have never been OP except with very certain class-specific builds (of which I am not), and I hate that it keeps getting nerfed for everyone in such ways.
