Lol wtf had a whole thing typed out. But it has a sense of danger being in the wild. But towns will be safe an if anyone wants to attack have a option to turn pvp on or off. Would make things rather interesting for all. An pve players still be able to roam around.

i would love to have open world pvp with an on-off switch for times when i do want to pvp and times when i dont want to pvp in world of eso, i would love it.

Would have to be a cool-down switch for those going into PvP. Otherwise, grievers could attack others and then switch right into PvE mode.

I run the prison everytime i make a new character and the amount of idiots who just run along swinging a sword is amazing, you can stand in one place and have half a dozen ppl trying to kill you even though you are speaking to them In Area Chat asking what they think they are doing and could they get out the way of your target ;-)

The best way to have World PVP in this game is to use phasing. Allow anyone who wants to PvP to flag themselves and allow the rest of us to not check that box. Then anyone who wants to PvP can do so like crazy. I will not see them and they will not see me. And when they go that route turn that feature on in the PvP zone and the city coming out so I can go check out that content in peace without getting ganked as I fish, look for skyshards, and do quests. I am sure many PvE folks would love that too.

DCUO had this option and it worked fine and would be a cool option in ESO. With DCUO, those who had PvP enabled had a special icon over their heads to designate they had the PvP flag turned on.

I love pvp at sea world. Oh wait in ESO not so much, i hear Dark Fall has it. At some point the justice system will get its pvp portion that is as close to world pvp your going to get i believe.

great idea. worked well in SWG too.

you could be flagged as PVP and attackable or flagged as PVE and unattackable. you spoke to an NPC to go flagged or unflagged.

You could also go flagged temporarily simply by attacking someone who was flagged or by helping a friendly who was flagged (5 minute cooldown after combat ended).

Fantastic way to choose to PVP or not to PVP.

Excellent addition to this game.

Isn't cyrodil open world enough ? Just had this conversation last night with guildmates cyrodil while fun plays like the open world pvp I'm used to with some capture objectives thrown in . Fun but ultimately a battle of numbers . Pvp I'm used to in mmos is instanced for small groups 5v5 , 8v8 tdms or node matches. We'd q up for the arenas while in the open world pvp areas fighting all comers . Maybe 1 day in eso ....

Not only do PvPers have Cyrodiil, they're about to have Imperial City too. Settle for that rather than extend it generally, irritate the PvEers no end, and have the PvPers complaining that there's no PvP in the PvP zones.

Yes. Full world PvP. Because what we need is VR players preventing low leveled players from leaving the starting city.

Lol I dont see how pvp effects those in pve have it turned off so people can't touch you. An level cap it 10-20 an so on for pvp, were not talkin about other games this is eos an the pvp is amazing but should be expanded into the world.

So... you can only PvP if you're doing PvP... so you basically want the system that is already in place.

Dcuo does it the best as someone mentioned. All people flagged for pvp are in one phase while all of those who aren't are in another. That being said, half the population is on your side in dcuo. With eso, there'd be an enemy around every corner. However people wouldn't ask for world pvp if eso just let us duel(which dcuo also does ).

I am curious about something I saw mentioned a bit in this thread. How exactly does phased pvp cause an annoyance to players who choose not to engage in pvp?

2) Nope. IMO, I'm just fine with Cyrodiil being the PvP of the game. We don't need to entire world to be a gank-fest. i can't even stroll a city working on my Crafting skills without some bored 12-year old swinging his sword at me like he's trying to eviscerate the infidel... if the entire world was PvP, it would be a griefing nightmare.
