Craglorn Leveling

I have a Vr1 Templar healer that has virtually zero offensive abilities.
I grouped up with two guildies, one Vr2 and the other Vr3. For the most part, we don't have any problems in Craglorn. I can even survive getting mobbed on and maintain their health. My question however, is it harder to level for me in craglorn due to the 9 rank gap between me and the mobs, or is this just how veteran ranks are? I'm hoping the latter, as gear is useless after even one veteran rank according to my crafting numbers. Thanks in advance adventurers!
