Well I thought once I learned a trait it was available for all pieces I could craft. For example I learn impenetrable trait from iron greaves I could then use that trait on any heavy armor I crafted. Now I see I have to learn all the traits on each piece of equipment!

So, I'm just about to hit level 18 and I'm a bow user. In all this time I have found no bows with any traits on them. Where do you find traited bows other than buying in a guild trader?

    Enemies drop bows with traits on them. Other than that, guild traders or have a player craft a bow with the trait you want and research it.

    Most of the time you can buy lv 1 weapons and armor with any trait for around 300~500g a piece, (25k'ish on Nirn)
    Or you can just ask /zone chat if you feel lucky, most people can craft one for free.

    From enemies or buy from solo player crafter cause some guilds charge way to much for traits.

    ok thanks a bunch. Guess I've just been unlucky in traited bow drops so far

    There is a Guild (present on all platforms and servers) that attempts to serve a purpose you may be interested in.

    ESO Trait Initiative.

    Essentially it acts like a Trait Library. Get invited via their Facebook page. Craft all the things you have Traits for and Deposit in the Guild Bank. Once that is done let a GM know and they will grant you Withdraw permissions. Then, you pull an item that has a trait you need, Research it, then craft it and put it back... and so on and so forth.

    If you're a member of any Guilds, ask if someone can craft you some low-level stuff (talking like lv 2 things, b/c level doesn't matter for researching Traits). If you're on the NA PC servers, I can make you some stuff when I get home.

    I am currently in the process of researching my 5th trait for Bows, and I can say with confidence that the number of bows that I have looted with traits is pretty low. I also checked with my Guild Store and there was not a single Bow available to purchase, so I may have to try McBainUVA's suggestion!

    I bought a couple yesterday from a guild trader and today of all days I looted three bows with traits on them lol

    I just discovered this a few days ago. I never realized that the Urn that you start with was usable and actually contained loot that would have been useful when I started. Yes, I'm an idiot. On the bright side, I no longer need that starting bow which has the Training Trait, and as such was able to use it for researching.
