Please don't laugh, I know I may sound like a dolt right now bit the truth is sometimes when I read these forums some terms tend and abbreviations to make it very hard to impossible for me to understand what people are trying to say. Can anyone please post broad definitions of common abbreviations and other meanings so I can better follow the subjects?

    Oh, there are so many, where to begin....

    I'll start with some of the ones most commonly used:

    CP = Champion Points
    VR = Veteran Rank
    L2P = Learn To Play
    CC = Crowd Control
    CCI = Crowd Control Immunity
    PvP = Player vs Player
    PvE = Player vs Environment
    IC = Imperial City
    DSA = Dragonstar Arena
    AA = Atherian Archive
    COA = City Of Ash
    TV = Tel Var Stones
    AP = Alliance Points
    XP = Experience Points

    There are many, many more abbreviations and terms that someone who has never played this game before would have no idea about, such as jesus beam, bowplar, stamplar, etc...

    Currently it is a Templar skill called Radiant Opression. It is a channeled beam of light used as an execute.
    Formerly, before that one existed it was the slang used for Soul Assault, a channeled Ult from the Soul Magic skill line.

    I object. Actually, us Ebonhearts proudly wear the nickname "Tomatoes" and the Despicable Daggers usually go by "Smurfs".

    You have the banana tag right, though. For your information, this one is not based on the faction colors, logical as that may seem. It comes from using an old meme that perfectly describes their standard tactics:

    Thanks for the help, I think those posts cover everything, if I see something new I will ask about it here. The staff should really pin a guide like this for newer people so they don't have to be bold and ask like me once posts like this get buried. I see many guides on ingame matters on the forums but no basic slang translation other than the one Tessie showed I guess it is assumed to be well known by everyone. I think the mods should pin that one at least as it is well done and it will save a lot of headaches.

    "Proc" as a verb essentially means "when something that has a random chance of occurring, actually happens"
    As a noun, it refers to the thing that has a random chance of occurring.

    An example in this game would be the elemental damage enchantments on weapons. They don't happen every time you hit something, they happen sometimes, randomly. The extra damage that can sometimes happen is referred to as the weapon's "proc" (used as a noun in that case). When it actually happens, you can say the weapon "procs" (used as a verb).

    The actual etymology of the term is highly debated. It dates back to the old text-based MUDs. Some say is short for "procedure" or "process" as in "special procedure". Others claim it's an acronym for "Programmed Random OCcurence" but that always seemd like a backronym to me.
