Why does a sorcerer have more stamina abilities than a knight?

13oot5straps
I am new to this game and do not get to play as much as I would like because 40hr work week and college but since i started playing about 4 weeks ago on ps4 I really love it. I like the story and have tried to read a little bit about the lore in the game and I am wondering is it because of the history and lore of the elder scrolls that sorcerers use more stamina abilities than dragon knights in previous games?

I guess because I play a dragon knight and know i can morph 2 skills into stamina but i read that there is a new version of the game downloadable in September sometime and the sorcerer will have 3 class abilities that will use stamina. 2 the cost stamina and 1 that replenishes i think. i guess my question is if my assumption or expectation was wrong about what a sorcerer is supposed to be in eso or any elder scrolls game (i haven't played any other than eso). I always assumed a sorcerer would be more focused towards magic and a knight more focused towards stamina. I'm still new and have only played about a month so maybe i'm just confused and naive on how a sorcerer acts in relation to the elder scrolls history.

"Play any way you want." - was the idea behind it. Any race, any class, any weapon.

Obviously, players have found certain optimal builds. The pendulum swings as the developers try to support magicka builds or stamina builds. I think the class changes being proposed to be released with IC is an attempt to open up more options for stamina based classes that may not have traditionally been as popular.

You kind of have to let go of preconceived notions here. Now I specifically came here to play a ranged DPS caster, Sorc fit that vision for me at first. You can also play a DK or NB as a magicka caster....or stam melee...or stam ranged...or a tank...
    You see where I'm going?
You have more options here (some are more viable than others depending on what you're interested in doing in the game).
I could bring my Spellsword character from Skyrim in now and it would likely work...to a certain extent.

    I'm confused by your question.

Dragonknights have 2 class skills that can be morphed to be based on stamina instead of magicka.

Sorcerers have 1 class skill that can be morphed to be based on stamina instead of magicka, and another class skill that uses stamina, but only because it drains it in order to give you magicka. That makes the second skill one that a magicka-using sorcerer would be far more likely to want to use than a stamina-using sorcerer.

So sorcerers don't have more stamina abilities than dragonknights. So I'm not sure what you're asking.

Also the passive abilities of the DK support stamina abilities quite well. The sorcerer passives aren't quite so beneficial for stamina.

There are 4 classes in this game...

    a white mage
    a black mage
    a fire mage
    a thunder mage

    I can't find the knight :open_mouth:

thank you for the answers i greatly appreciate it. I guess it is nice to have more options and viability as a class than a narrow set of assets and liabilities.
