I would like to get this leveled up early for PvP related purposes, my toon is only level 6 atm, but would farming bloodthorn zombies on betnikh progress the skilline? The purpose is I'm working on a vampire/ww hunter build and would like to get access to the tools of the trade as early as possible.

Doesn't matter what lvl the undead/daedra are, they all give the same exp with a 1.

Cold harbour zombies is a great place to level them, easy groups of 10+ with if you rotate right are always available.

Fighter's Guild progression levels up based on the number of undead/daedra kills. I wrote it down somewhere, but off the top of my head, it takes around 4,000 undead/daedra kills to reach Fighter's Guild level 10. You don't have to actually do any of the Fighter's Guild quests to rank it up, just kill zombies/ghosts, etc.... They have to be within your level range though. If you don't get XP for the kill, it doesn't count.

Nice, what is the level range exactly? I'll be honest, i'm not one of those drag in drag out grinders with dual wield, so it will take me a bit longer I assume? But that's ok, I have time, as long as it's not a stupid amount of time. I think after this I'd probably move on to the ebon crypt, then I'm not sure, though there are a few daedra in stormhaven and a lot of vampires in rivenspire.

I'm in daggerfall covenant by the way, so any good spots for this stuff would be nice.

The mobs you are fighting must be within 5 levels of yours. For example, if you are level 20, you would still get XP and the kills would count against mobs that are level 15. Level 14 mobs wouldn't. So, as your character level goes up while grinding undead, you will have to find new higher level areas to grind in order to rank up Fighter's Guild.

You can't just find a spot with level 5 zombies and kill 4,000 of them and be done with it, it doesn't work that way.

So with my slow sluggish way, 5 seconds times 4000 is roughly 6 hours, not bad to be honest if you think about it. Potentially at worst how many levels could I go up from this while doing it?

Are public dungeons wise for this? Any early ones that provide for this?

Glenumbra -> Gaudet Farm zombies will get you XP to level 19
Glenumbra -> Cath Bedraud skeletons will get you XP to level 21
Rivenspire -> Crestshade zombies will get you XP to level 31
Alik'r Desert -> Sentinel Docks zombies will get you XP to level 39
Coldharbour -> Vile Laboratory zombies will get you XP up to VR14

Between all of these place you can easily rank up Fighter's Guild, as well as quickly get your character to veteran rank.

At what point in that list would you assume my fighter's guild to be a 10?

    Probably Rivenspire, level 30-ish.

On a side note, an aesthetic part I'm hoping to appease is the "Monster Hunter" Title, know of any guides to it within the DC area? Netches are in coldharbour so if I'm correct, it shouldn't be too hard other than the atronachs. Plus water based ones but if I'm correct there are wisps, so they have to be somewhere in covenant territory, if not I think there are some in coldharbour.

As soon as you start unlocking the passives and skills such as Expert Hunter, you'll be pulling and nuking groups of undead.

I'll do the betnikh one till I'm five levels above and then I'll follow your list @Akavir_Sentinel Just wondering, you like the abilities? I presume you do, I find it quite rewarding when you slay them in PvP, it's quite fun. Earlier today I had this funny moment when I was on my NB healer, got wooped by some vampire hiding on the keep outskirts, came back with my bolts on, lets just say he wasn't amused.

I was just wondering your thoughts on trap beast, it's the one ability on the skilline i'm doubting, it's arming time is being lowered to 1.5 seconds next patch though, the way I use it is, if say a werewolf player is rushing me, I'll place it down at my feet, so the werewolf charges in then, BAM! it's caught inside the trap, getting them to step on it from range just seems like too much of a gamble. Though with the update lightweight may seem a better idea because you could essentially 'throw' it at players.

By far, the greatest use of the Fighter's Guild line in PvP is Dawnbreaker, Expert/Evil/Camouflaged Hunter (being able to see which players are undead/WW), and Silver Shards. I've never had a use for Beast Trap, even in PvE. To me it is arguably the most useless skill in the entire game. I guess you could toss the lightweight one into a zerg or the middle of a group fight and get lucky.

@Akavir_Sentinel I don't get why everyone is picking shards over leash? Does shards still have the banish? I can see why it's going to be helpful for the grind though. I assume people running FG abilities will more comfortable in the Imperial city. On console, the vast majority appear to be one or the other of the creatures, I guess old habits die hard (Skyrim), a lot more play in first person too, I did this for my first play through, realized it's ineffectiveness in the end.

did you say your dual wield, steel tornado is the greatest aoe skill in the game, high dmg and huge range.

Steel tornado + evil/camo hunter = easy undead kills.

Also it works in your 5 levels ahead of the mob, any more and it stops.

@Akavir_Sentinel one more question, say I was grinding, got to a high level, then decided to do my alliance quests for the skill points, would my skillines and skills level at the same rate as usual questing? As they level quite slow in grinding compared to questing in my opinion, and does silver shards have banish still? or would leash be more appropriate in PvP?

You could go back and do the quests at any time, but you would be over-leveled and won't receive as much XP as you would have if you had done those same quests at the appropriate level. I find that grinding large groups of mobs such as undead/daedra level up my skills quite fast. As for Silver Shards, I think it still has banish against PvE mobs, but I'm not sure how that works against players in PvP as I don't use it all that much anymore. I do know that it has a chance to proc extra damage on undead/deadra mobs and players. Silver Leash is getting fixed to where you can't pull players off walls or up onto walls. They are fixing it the same way they did with DK chains.
