I can only hope to be as awesome as you old timers Started playing MMO's at 14, 27 now. Don't even remember how old I was when I started gaming in general.. That Doom on a floppy drive, though haha.

I remember Wolfenstein 3D as the first videogame my father brought from the US.

I started off with a thing like the orange Pong box - it had 4 variations of the same game, Tennis, Squash and I forget the other two. Had a Commodore 64 with three cartridges, including Space Invaders. Then got a Nintendo handheld - which I still have, and it still works - Donkey Kong Jnr. Graduated to NES, sold that for a SNES (which I also still have), and got my first PC in about 1993, a Packard Bell piece of ****... It had something like 3k HDD. My first PC game was Ultima 8, and when I got Warcraft 1 I didn't have enough HDD space to install that as well, lol. 2nd PC was custom built, about $2.5k worth, on which I had many happy hours playing stuff like Age of Empires, Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and 3, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, Warcraft 2, Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus... a couple of PCs later, I bought a $250 graphics card just to play Oblivion. Also got a PS1 and sold that, still have my PS2, two PS3s, a PS4 and an XB360 (purchased to fuel my Assassin's Creed Brotherhood MP addiction during the great PSN Outage of 2011). I'm on my second laptop now that is specced for games, but frankly I wouldn't play any MP Online game because of cheaters.

I've played all sorts of games (and platinumed several): Red Dead Redemption, all the Assassin's Creeds to date, all three Bioshocks, Fallout 3 & 4, Skyrim, Witcher 2 & 3, Dishonoured (a favourite), The Order 1886, Little Big Planet 1, 2, 3, Portal 1 & 2, Bayonetta, Borderlands 2 & Presequel, Journey, Shadow of Mordor... but this is my first MMO.

Best gaming experience to date: https://www.zerolatencyvr.com/ VR experience on the Oculus in February with my family. Can't wait to see where VR is going to go.


And I love the fact that my teenage boys and their friends think I'm cool because I am a true gamer xD

Started gaming in the early eighties on an Atari 2600, with Pac Man, Defender, and some others being my first games. ESO is my first MMO, got into through the Elder Scrolls series of course. I had played a MUD off and on for about 10 years starting when I was in college but never really found previous MMOs all that appealing. Great experiences here though and have gotten to know some awesome people.

Edit: Also I did a little math with the poll and estimate the average age so far to be 34.

My first mmo was Pirates of the Caribbean Online.. I played that around the age of 8. So I was pretty young starting out. My kid logic was in order to quit the game I had to hard shut down the computer by holding in the power button. Yeah.. After about a month I made the computer lose all it's information or something because my mom was pretty pissed at me and I couldn't play it anymore. After two years I got back into the game and realized there was an actual quit button. Woops.

If you think your first 20 went fast, it only gets worse once you hit 30...yeah I'm an old fart and I DO wish I was in my 20s again ..for sure!

40 - First games were pong and asteroids on a commodore 64. Fell in love with rpgs in 91 with ffiv and then with mmorpgs with ffxi.

37 here, got addicted to games when my family acquired a ColecoVision in the 80s. I still have my NES and stack of games from that period as well. These days I generally only play PC games though.

Tried my first MMO around 8 years ago and stuck with it for years. Played some others but not for long, but I loved the TES games so I had to try ESO. Been here for a year and I'm nowhere near getting bored of it!

Ahhh! You have no clue how happy I am to see another former pirate! I miss that game so much.

My name was just simply "Silver." (I used the customizable name option) Yeah, I was a nobody on that game unlike you obviously lol so I doubt we ever ran into one another. Do you remember the halloween events? I think the event I'm thinking of was only in tortuga. Certain players were zombies and if they killed you, you got to be one as well. Oh, and also the envasions from jolly roger in port royal?! That was all so fun. Glad to finally meet another player who come from there. I could ramble on and on...
