More xp grind. 100+ materials to craft new gear pieces. Tel var Stone grind. More crafting ranks/traits grind. More pvp grind. First they split motifs into pages, but that wasn't grindy enough so now they're fragments of pages. Even the style materials are fragments now.
It would not surprise me one bit too see crafting materials or tel var stones show up in the crown store at this point.

And on top of all these terrible decisions, we now have knee jerk changes to gameplay rather than actual solutions to the problems at hand.

I thought console release would breathe new life into eso, but thatc was a pipe dream. I haven't seen game developers pull this much stupid crap since soe put star wars galaxies through a meat grinder, and we all know how well that worked out for them.

On to the next game.

I actually feel guilty for recommending this game to friends and family, like I just robbed them for ZOS.

I'd rather go back to destiny than keep dealing with this company, and that on its own is a tragic thing.

Grinding is one thing, but they're taking it to a whole new level. The part that bugs me mostv is that the entire driving force behind most of these changes is to push more crown store sales.

Remember when game developers made games to be fun, rather than just to fill their employer's pockets with swindled cash?


Anyways, I'm not bitter about this kind of thing anymore, it's happened to every mmo I've played. I'm just disappointed that no mmo company seems to have any personal integrity anymore.

I tend to agree on your "pages come in fragments which are themselves fragments of the whole motif" now, since it's essentially just cosmetic - which will be their hook to purchase said cosmetics when they appear in the Cash Shops eventually. It will be the same marketing strategy other MMOs take of: It's technically in game but actually acquiring it solely in game for the vast majority of the player base is fairly unrealistic - so just buy it from our Shop.

Then again, Motif's are the only thing really that has an applicable gold value, so having something to spend gold on is alright, I guess? Especially when they don't contribute to any actual game play mechanics. It just makes me want an intuitive cosmetic armor feature even more - this costume garbage is pretty bland and really not a great system.

How come nobody else seems to realize that making the VR16 gear realllllllly hard to obtain, makes the a VR14 gear you paid millions of gold to get maintain its value?

If anything they made it less grindy because only .0001% of their player base would have the persistence to pull off being a true VR16 crafter.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE THE BEST GEAR IN THE GAME!

Maybe its really hard to obtain because they dont want everyone to get v16 right away, because they are not going to increase vet levels every content patch? Game released at vr10 ~16 months ago (~18 when IC goes live), So we should be good at v16 for the rest of the year.

18/3 = 6 month periods so far.

Would you want them to alternatively make it easy, but increase the vr rank again in a few months?

It can be hard to obtain and let them add more things in larger, slower patches. Or we could be the horse chasing the update carrot on a stick every day, with all the gear in hand.

What proof do you have for any of these claims? Where is your source that ZOS is putting Tel Var Stones and IC crafting materials in the Crown Store? Where are they selling trophies to open up the Trophy Vaults? If you don't like the grind, leave, but don't go spreading lies that ZOS is only doing this to make money in the Crown Store when they clearly aren't.

MMOs are not for you. I recommend trying a game where there is little grind to achieve the maximum rewards. MOBAs, first person shooters, and sports games seem like more your calling.
