I am always so happy to hear that bump sound and recieve glowing notification in my chat window only to open it up and press X.

They let us edit Guild Officer's chat colors which nobody uses, (if anybody then it's probably less than 3% of ESO players) yet I assume it would be really easy to add an option to disable these notifications in for instance Settings/Social.
How do you deal with this first world's problem?

WitchyWolfnub19_ESOSoul ShrivenI completely agree and a quick search will show we are not alone in our hatred of lag causing, annoying sound making, immersion breaking and truly useless notifications.
One tip I just read that I am going to try is to separate your guild chat into it's own tab(s) and remove guilds from the default Chat tab. Then make that default Chat tab your active tab. The idea is that which ever tab is active may have impact on the type of notifications that pop up on the screen. Have to test this. I usually create a tab for each guild and Zone chat and remove the Zone and Guilds from the default Chat tab anyway.
