Help with my dragon knight please.

callahan9119
I'm only lvl 8 I think. So far I'm just running around with a 2 handed sword and wearing what heavy armor I found. I've only put points in health and the first 2 two handed abilities. What else should I be putting my points in?

You'd be better off posting this in the players helping players section, but here's some quick advice.

While leveling, always have at least 1 skill from each of your class skill lines on your bar, even if you don't really use it much. This is the only way those skill lines level, and you're definitely going to want to unlock some of the other skills in them to use later.

Consider wearing a mix of armour types. If you want to go mostly heavy, that's fine, but mix in at least 1 piece of medium and at least 1 piece of light (ideally make the pieces that provide the least protection anyway light and medium). This way you'll level all 3 armour skill lines at the same time, allowing you more freedom to change up your build later.

If you plan on sticking with two-handed (which isn't a bad choice at all - it's a solid option for DPS), you're probably going to want to start putting points into stamina. You'll still want some points in health for sure, but don't neglect stamina either.

here's my build V13 DK DPS @hand great sword and an inferno staff.
all heavy armor but I use 4 magicka glyphs and 3 stamina glyphs.
if you want hit up americansteel on PC or BL4CK FALCON on Xbox one. I can help you through the steps to make your DK a better build.
start collecting iron ore for one, armor you get deconstruct them and or research when you can on all armors and weapons for traits learned in future armor builds.
I cant remember the abilities off hand at the moment. I always used coag blood I think its called, and I like and only use for my ultimate abilty is standard of might. don't use take flight.

Heavy Armor is best if you are going more tank, medium armor is better suited for damage while light gives magica bonuses, agree with above, right now an equal mix will level them all out evenly so you can decide later how you want to build. Alsi spend some time looking over the trees, plan ahead and come up with what you want your character to do. On forums you will find more cookie cutter stuff, but really you can customize your chatacter how you want it, and far better to be familiar with all options available to you.

Do you guys recommend a shield over 2 hander? I was gonna use a shield, but read something about a nerf coming . Main goal is pvp

If you want to tank, yes you need to use one-handed and shield. If you want to do better damage, stick with your two-handed weapon. Playing solo is a lot easier with two-handed than with sword & board, because it's a lot easier to burn enemies down with high damage output than it is to outlast them in the tanking game. Tanks are definitely in demand for group dungeons and such, though, because there are way fewer of them.

So I'd say stick with two-handed unless you plan on tanking. Even if you do plan on tanking, probably stick with two-handed for now, and then once you unlock weapon swapping at level 15 maybe put a sword & shield on one bar, and keep your two-hander on the other.

It also wouldn't hurt to join the fighters, mages, and undaunted guilds right away. You don't need to do quests for them, You have instant access to their skill lines and each has a different criteria to leveling up those skill lines. Caps for clarity and attentIon; THESE SKILL LINES DO NOT LEVEL THE SAME AS YOUR CLASS, WEAPON AND ARMOR SKILL LINES. The skills themselves do however level the same.

Also for taking you are going to need stamina as well as health, Just bare that in mind.
