controller to work with a laptop

my friend want s to join the game, but is wondering what controller will work on a laptop ie xbox 360 or xbox 1
can anyone advice if these work and if any other software is required

    Native controller support will be coming soon(tm), according to yesterday's Quakecon announcements. We don't know yes exactly which controllers it will be configured for, but we can assume anything that matches the xb1/ps4 layout.

    Anybody that doesn't want to wait has to use xpadder or similar.
