Heal vs Ward for sorc survivability?
So my current sorc solo spec has hit the point where I occasionally bite off more than I can chew in the Vet zones. I now have a spare slot on my second bar but I'm not sure whether taking hardened ward and protecting before a fight would be better than taking one of the resto staff healing skills and using it as necessary. Any advice? Is there another ability that might work better like one of the armour skills?

✭Personally. I go for Hardened Ward on my first bar (destruction staff) and healing ward on my second (restoration staff) Both of which have saved me big time during Vet Pledges and in Cyrodiil. and investing Champion points in Bastion (in the Lord) Us Sorcs can be pretty Frail without our wards.Edited by Lucky28 on July 22, 2015 4:31PMInvictus0 -

✭✭✭✭✭My Sorc can solo incredibly difficult content without a Resto staff, but I would totally fail without Hardened Ward. Healing magic just doesn't work that well since the 1.6 update, at least not at VR levels. The amount of heals per second simply does not scale up to the DPS the mobs are doing against you.

^ this. With hardened ward, I can run nearly all content without having to worry too much about the healer skills in my group. If the healer is a skilled player, I drop hardened for additional dps
None of the solo content should pose a problem.

✭Hardened ward is hands down way better than heals.

Thanks everyone. Tried the ward last night and it works pretty well. Ironically I realised after I asked this I could actually have freed up two skills and had a ward and a heal as well lol0
