Devouring Swarm Vs Clouding Swarm

Im A vamp Sorc And Use the clouding swarm morph of bat swarm i Love the cloak which allows me to freely cast spells but sometimes i wonder if that extra heal from devouring beats out the cloak Of clouding. Need Some Opinions especially If Your A Vamp Sorc??

Devouring is good if you are a tank with high mitigation as you get more benefit out of the healing.

If you have low health and rely on damage shields for survivability, clouding is better as it allows you to recast shields, cast abilities, sneaky rez allies and bolt escape escape without interuption.

If you have a restro staff and can heal you during the swarm, clouding swarm can be better. Most of the time, enemies have trouble with clouding swarm + bit damage/aoe, because they can't protect themselves efficiently.
Devouring swarm is better when you need a heal or when the invisibility is nearly useless for you. And against npc.

I'm a Vamp Nightblade and tend to use devouring swarm as it means I can run stamina potions instead of healing which is often what I need for PvE, when I start playing PvP though i'll switch out to clouding as the cloak seems great for that

Only class that definitely should be using devouring over clouding is DK. Sorcs usually find more use from clouding bc shields and you can clouding then streak into ppl and most of the time they don't know what's going on. NBs should be using clouding bc of the synergy with the class. Temps can go either way.

Clouding and veiled strike in PVP is great. Especially when chasing enemies.

devouring if your just looking for a "dumb" ultimate, what I mean by that is its very black and white in what it does. it does aoe damage, and heals you, plain and simple. I recommend this for PvE

clouding offers much more utility and room to counterplay, such as but not restricted to:
-confusion, charging into a group and swarming while continuing to deal other effects can be very disorienting and depending on the skills you use while swarming downright crippling.
-escape, (even for NB's) most classes don't have invis let alone an escape and using clouding swarm to begin your escape usually works well as most PvPers will instinctively flee from a bat swarm. this is even useful on NB's as a lot can break cloak so swarming to set up a cloak can get you out of situations you would otherwise die in.
-resurrection, you can rez while swarming and are nearly impossible to interrupt, I have personally gotten people out of areas it would normally be impossibly to rez them in because of this ultimate.

so on paper devouring swarm is better on its own, but clouding swarm offers fantastic utility and synergy.
