DK Stamina vs Stamina Regen.

I've been thinking recently that I lack a lot of stamina regen (sitting at 560 at Vet 7). I then asked myself which is better have more stamina or having more stamina regen; I have over 18k Stamina but like I said I only have 560 regen.

My first ability bar is Critical rush IV, Unstable flame IV, Executioner IV, Wrecking blow IV, and Rally IV.
As you can see I use all Stamina depended abilities, I won't go into detail about my 2nd ability bar as they are meant for survivability e.g reflect/Green dragon blood .
My question is any hardcore players out there have any idea which is better to invest in?

Are you using medium armor? That definitely seems liw. My vet 6 is at over 900 stamina regen @ 16k stamina. You can use champion points to help boost regen too.

I'm all Heavy armor as my goal is to survive multiple enemies. I'm not a tank though, I'm strictly DPS but I just prefer Heavy over medium (I know med is better for DPS).

Well there's your problem. Without medium armor you're losing at least 21% stamina regen. You're also losing stamina cost reduction and weapon damage. You're not carrying a 2h sword, you're wielding a herring.

I know zos likes to tell us we can play how we want, but if you want to be effective you have to work within the game mechanics. Heavy armor serves no purpose other than tanking - it doesn't help your resources or your damage output. Either mix 5 medium / 2 heavy to keep the look and some survivability, or use a costume to keep the heavy look.

Welp guess I've got some re-balancing to consider now, thanks for the help.
The main issue now is that I've invested all researchable traits into heavy so that's going to be a massive bummer.

If you'd use medium armor with a 2H sword, you can spam Brawler against multiple enemies (any amount), no need then for armor because you use the damage shield. But you need stamina recovery more than max stamina then. You'll be much more survivable this way than with heavy armor.

In that setting you could easily defeat 20-30 enemies at once, just got to make sure you hit enough enemies with each swing.

I was going to switch enchantments on my armor and put regen but now I'm contemplating switching to medium; the only issue as it stands is that I've already invested too much time into heavy so it's going to be a tough call from here on.

Well, heavy armor is better for strong world bosses and public dungeon bosses, since Brawler is useless there. Infinite dodging is being removed, so medium armor builds can't keep dodging the bosses hits anymore, and they'll have to tank it in the face.

I had a lot of fun with my 2H heavy armor orc, I used Brawler too but the heavy armor allowed me to alternate with heavy attacks to get back stamina, so no need for high stamina recovery.

Just depends on what ya like.

ah alright, I'm pretty close to hunding rage set being completed for heavy armor on Xbox One so I thought I could make up with the lack of DPS by using crafted armor sets; I also thought that'll hold me over till I get twice born so I can get warrior/thief mundane boons.

I guess I'll stick with what I have now at-least until the next update drops just to see what it changes.
