Today may have been the day I hit the ESO brick wall;

I've been having consistently less fun each time I get on to play, but I've wrote it off as just being bored with questing and maybe I'll get over it. Here I am, 90 quests later (just finishing up Pact Hero, and I've already done Dominion) and I can't even bring myself to do another quest. Thought maybe PvP would be cool, but all of the servers on Xbox are either consta-locked or they're so one-sided you can't go into them and do anything.
So the question is this: Has anyone gone through this, found something to make it worth, and kept playing or is this where everyone else is quitting too?
I have a huge love for the game, but it's starting to feel like a chore, and I want some advice on maybe some fun content that I might have missed or anything. I don't want to leave the game, but I don't wanna be bored the whole time I play either.

My alts honestly. I love to make up back stories for them, and interact with the game world like they would. It keeps things a little more interesting, though the stagnant endgame needs more content . I just wish I had more character slots

Hmm, might have to try this. I've literally always played Wood Elves in TES games, so maybe I can change it up and play something less standard for me.

I have played the game since release (and before), i have 1 character (nb), never played a alts(beside the first time under bete, to find the class i wanted to play on release.)
I to have been there, all i can say is if there is no other game out there for you(There is no game for me out there yet anyway, that get as close to DAOC), then close your eyes and run with it.

Community makes up a large part of making fun in MMO's.

If you go through and try to complete every single quest it will get like that. Thats the life of anyone trying to be a completionist in a very large game. When I level alts the only quests I do the whole time are the main quest, fighters guild, mages guild, caldwells silver/gold and Craglorn quests. Craglorn's not necessary but I enjoy them because they are a challenge solo (when possible). This keeps the quests to a minimum. They can become mind numbing. You'll do more running around than actual playing. The delves, dungeon, anchors, world bosses, etc are the real fun for me. Basically just try to hit all the points of interest in each zone and only do the necessary quests. Mix in pledges (lvl 45 min) and PvP also.

After that you should be close to endgame and a whole new set of challenges open up.

Makes sense. The issue I was having is that while I was trying to run through gold I was clearing zones significantly faster than I was gaining levels which resulted in me getting destroyed by mobs 4 Vet levels higher than me. So to offset that I went and cleared EP. I finally started running pledges tonight though, and I think that might be the saving grace right now since I can't stand Cyro in its current state.

honestly your best bet is to play some single player games you'd be interested. After a while you'll prob find you don't even want to play ESO anymore.

Ever since I hit VR 1, I've been working on the Cadwell quests. Im almost VR 5 and Cadwells Gold is starting to get impossible.

I know the feels. Im about 241 quests in lol

See, that's actually the truth of it. I could throw in another game and forget about it, but I don't want it to come to that. I love the series, and even though this is probably the worst (imo) installment I want to at least experience all aspects of it before I move on. So I have to find a way to truck on until Craglorn is an option. Just looking for a way to make that bearable.

PvP is tons and tons of fun if you are running with a good guild. So are the vet dungeons and Dragonstar Arena.

Any tips on places with better odds of finding those guys? Cause that actually is on my list of things I want to do.

Find a good small guild that is tight nit and run dungeons man, the vet dungeons are a challange and you need a good team that works well together to do most of them, i run a small guild, i HATE questing in games with a passion, im a dungeon/instance/raid kinda guy always have been, quests are a nessary evil for me in terms of lvling and only if they give good exp, but i did almost a full vet lvl today on dungeons alone, vet 4 atm so im not capped out, one of my guildies i spent most the day with got about 60% of a lvl at vet 6. plus all the loot, and farming for that set you want. if the only thing i was doing was quests i would have quit like 5 days into the game... the group finder is pretty broken, but use the time while in que to do some quests or grind out some lvls, research sets your looking for or gear your looking to farm and go farm it, stop buying all your stuff and have the enjoyment and self accomplisment of getting it yourself, granted i wont lie when i say i love the ppl who buy the purples i sell lols, got 28 purp weaps from yesterday/today on the market not counting the ones i gave to guildies lols.

1100 unique quests done here. You have to pace yourself or you WILL burn out. There are a lot of quests in this game, and it's what the bulk of the content is, but if you only do quests you will definitely, definitely burn out.

I did a few different things to break from quests while doing Cadwell's Silver/Gold:

1. PvP - You should still be able to queue when PvP is full, and then once a spot opens up (which, in my experience is usually pretty quick) you can enter.
2. Dungeons - I'm not sure how easy or hard this is to do on console with no zone chat and the LFG tool being kind of bad, but doing pledges is a nice release from the constant solo quest grind.
3. Achievements - I would try to pick up some of the non-quest achievements I missed going through the first time. Some of them can be super irritating (like M'aiq, the Liar), but some of them can be a good outlet for taking a break.

There's a lot of content in this game, but on the surface it can definitely look like it's just quests.

I've hit this same dead end many times while playing ESO.

What worked for me was PvP. I've always enjoyed PvP games much more than PvE but I've never been very good at it in MMOs. Months after release - when the boredom set in - I adventured into Cyrodiil. Now nearly a year later it's the only aspect of the game I actually enjoy. Sure it needs a lot of work, balance issues, more content, broken skills, lag fix and perhaps even an arena. Regardless of all of that, it's a lot of fun once you practice and learn how to PvP properly. Running with good players and good guilds is always a huge plus.

Can't really help you with PvE as other than having to grind characters to VR14 and sadly leveling the associated skills, I hope to never have to set foot in a PvE zone to play content ever again.

Find and join an active guild that likes to run a lot of things together. The guild I'm in is probably the main reason why I'm still in the game and enjoying it.

Set some crafting goals too, it is a very nice system that takes a lot of time. Set goals and make friends or you'll be bored to death.
