Leveling from 1-50

Haven't put in a ton of time in the game yet but I have noticed it has taken me quite some time to even get to lvl 12.. How much does the "XP needed" gap increase per level? Is it significant in the higher levels? I would assume that people either play this game a lot or are just really good since there are already veterans haha

Goes pretty quick for even casuals like me (took me about six months, playing about six hours a week).

VR leveling on the other hand is painfully slow.

Every level 1-50 takes about the same amount of time. 1-20 or so are actually the slowest levels in my experience since you have yet to unlock a lot of powerfull skills and passives etc.

Quickest way to do it unless you want to experience the story (questing), is to AoE grind. Three levels per hour is very doable at a good spot.

Wow, I got the game last night and I'm already at level 7 ... and I'm taking my time. I was going to suggest that perhaps levels was too easy?

I do have the paid membership, which gives a boost to exp., but I'm still on Stros M'Kai.

depends on yer ADHD level (LOOK SQUIRREL!)...

If you do the quests and DON"T get distracted by all the things, then you can progress pretty quickly (2-3 levels per hour would seem reasonable).

You could literally go for days just exploring is you stray from the quests.

oh dang! didn't know a paid member could level faster! I will look into that.. Maybe I can take my money from WoW and put it into this game! haha

Paid membership gives you a ten percent XP boost. Frankly, it's less expensive to purchase the 50 percent XP boost scrolls from the Crown store.

I know a lot of people want to get to max level as soon as possible, but my advice is to take your sweet time leveling up.

Explore as much as you can, try some crafting, try to get a group together for some dungeons, etc. You are not missing ANYTHING by not being max level. I wish I was still leveling through the game for the first time.

Quoted for the insight. IMO, the fun of TES games is aimless exploring. Though ESO doesn't have the freedom of SP TES games, it's still fun to just poke around.

Agreed...take your time. There's not much to do at V14 unless you want to compete in top end PVP but I'm guessing you're too late for that anyways due to champ points.

    Why not both? :p

You get 1500 crowns a month as a stipend with the subscription.

Was subscribed until last month, but since the wife and I were averaging maybe three hours of gameplay a week, it made little since to remain so.

Someone did the math a while back, asserting that one could simply purchase crowns for less than maintaining a subscription. Not sure whether it's true though.

Open up the Crown store, and you'll see the scrolls sold separately and in packs of several. Can't recall how many crowns each cost right now.

You also get 10% increase to gold earned, Alliance Points, and research times. If you only care about xp, and play in short bursts, then perhaps the scrolls are the way to go. But I prefer the constant bonus to all characters.

Okay, I just tried this for two hours and ... yeah, wow.

The scrolls give you a much larger bonus but only for two hours. The paid sub is lower but constant. So the scrolls are really powerful if your running quests or killing mobs. I wasted about 45 minutes of mine because I didn't quite understand how leveling worked. After that, tho, it was a 60% increase in exp (combined with the sub) and it was way, way too much. You know how the game makes a ding sound when you level up or you level up skill? My computer was like fight, ding, fight, ding, fight, ding ...

One thing I couldn't tell was if the scrolls worked for crafting exp? I think the game levels pretty fast anyway I'm at level 10 and I just arrived in Daggerfall.
