Is it worth starting this character over?

Halfway through the starting island (Auridon), I'm changing weapons and armor. Should I start over since this character is still only level 12, so the weapon and armor levels from the very beginning of the game? I've never really changed these things past Vulkhel Guard. Thanks.

    Nope -- don't reroll :)

You can start to learn new sets of weapons and armor quite easily. Just equip them and keep playing. In fact, it's typical while leveling to wear mixed armor sets, so you have different options later one. I tend to level alts in 5 of one type and 2 of another. Similarly, nearly every character should skill up multiple weapons (Destro/ Resto for casters, Bow/ 2H/DW for stamina-based chars and 1H/Shield for many specs).

The only reasons to reroll completely are the following:

    - You really hate the way your character looks or the name you chose. There may be options to change either in the cash shop someday, but ZOS isn't quick about that stuff
    - You are a min-maxer and you chose the wrong race for your desired build. For example, spellcasting orcs or weaponmaster bretons can work, but they will never be optimal. That's make-or-break for some people
    - You want to change factions to play with some friends

In general, TESO is very forgiving of early choices. You can reshape existing characters as you like. In fact, in the very next zone you will find a way to refund all your attribute costs, skill points or skill morphs.
