Combat animal companions? Hunter skill line?

TheDaydreamWalker
There are none in this game? I was excited by the idea of playing an outdoor huntsman archer kind of character, one with an animal friend by his side in combat. Sadly I find the closest I can attain this aspiration is to play as a sorcerer and use the deadric summoning to conjure up a demon. It's just not the same and falls drastically short of satisfaction. I wish there were a "ranger" or "hunter" skill line we players could invest skill points in to either tame beast of the wild to fight beside us or summon one to us.

I'd very much like this too.

If it were a skill line maybe it could include hunter snares and/or traps.

I would love to see a skill line with summoned animals for combat.

    Four in all:
Bear - tank (a la clannfear)
    Tiger - melee dps
Wolf - middle ground between damage and toughness
Spider - control via snares/roots and ranged poison damage

Make it so only one pet can be active at a time, and they cannot be used at the same time as sorc pets.

    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

Id like to see this but not for combat. Maybe one that picks locks, one that mines ore, one that increases inventory capacity abit etc. Wont ever happen but would be cool.

I'm not certain if this would be the right skill for this this skill line, but can we get CLIMBING?

I want to be able to shimmy up some of the damn mountains. Also how about a zoom in feature links bows had in previous ES games?

You guys did it again, reminding me of DAOC.
I had so much fun with my hunter in Midgard or Sorc in Albion.
Shadowblade, Nightblade, Infiltrator and Ministrel could climb keeps etc..

Stop being nostalgic, I need to ban this game out of my head. :'(

However, I would vote for hunter line or to add a charm pet skill into ESO.

I like the core concept a couple of comments:

-Summonable animals should stay as Dardra or magical creatures
-Vanity pets should change to 'familiars' and perform functions for you and level up on their own
-A couple more pets obtainable in-game
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

i'd love a hunter type of class, but opening the line up to all the players to have pets, would make the Cyrodiil lag babies probably explode with nerd rage.

I'd love it if my pets would auto loot for me, or gather crafting materials from nodes near where i'm fighting.

It does make sense since about every ranger or hunter npc can summon a temp pet to attack their enemies.

You'd be sorely disappointed if they did... ZOS barely gave Sorc pets functionality... and you can only summon 2 whenever you want... on the console they lose all functionality because we don't even have the command buttons they added for PC.

First thing they need to do is make Dadric summoning a world skill along with necromancy... make them temporary summons like the antronach with a morph for permanent summon or higher damage... along with more summons to choose from... flame and frost, daedroth etc.

I was sad to find this missing as well. I tried making a Hunter from a Wood Elf Sorcerer but eventually the bonuses from the bow just didn't do much to help the character.

So I've resorted to making him a sorcerer with full on magicka stuff.

I would love for a hunter skill line possibly something you get from the hunters in the wood elf area for the Dominion, that has 3 animals to summon and 2 traps perhaps. I would love the idea of having animals that actually have special skills.

I get the sentiment... but Elder Scrolls only ever had charm animal (stop it from attacking or briefly make it fight for you)

And they really limited the Daedric summoning... they really need to expand the Daedra players can summon before adding some fufu animal stuff.
