DISGUISE DEVELOPMENT to "Unify" Gear

Can we get the ability to make our armor pieces/sets a disguise? This could either be an extension of the Enchantment Class, or its own new one called "Disguise Crafting", perhaps featured once the Thieves Guild is incorporated in to the game.

This feature would be beneficial to players that want to conserve inventory space, and therefore can place each piece of their armor in the corresponding station slot i.e - Chest-hands-legs-etc, adding in the appropriate ingredients needed to successfully complete the union. The ingredient could be crystal shards, and the process can even be called "Armor Unification".

The player has two options. They can either only make the disguise based on their immediate look (for cosmetic purposes) or they can transfer the Stats, Enchantments and Traits (SET), which will require more ingredients. If the SET is transferred as Unified Gear, it CANNOT be worn over other clothing, but if its simply cosmetic, then it can be worn over armor just like other in-game disguises. And will ultimately be a "disguise" that looks exactly like the armor originally was, and have ALL the stats, enchantments, and traits that were originally on them. You can even name the disguise to be able to identify its purpose. Once the armor has been unified, it can be placed in a hot-bar for quick access for a player to change on the fly (out of combat).

As with all things, there should be a down-side to this process, and that would be - Any armor that has been Unified CANNOT be further upgraded via the same method normal armor is through Clothier, Blacksmith, and Enchantment stations. Also, while the hide helmet option will still work, the other pieces of the armor will NOT be able to be removed without removing all of the armor. However, the player will be able to continue changing the dye on their Unified Gear - at dye stations - if they so choose.

The final benefit to this new feature is that players will be able to keep a look they've grown to like while they continue to wear new armor with better stats.

I guess no one cares about little conveniences like this. Not enough people speak out to make these things come to fruition.

I do not think it is because people do not care; rather there are more pressing concerns the community would rather the development team work on. Concerns focusing on user interface, game balance improvements between PvP and PVE without major compromise to either seems to be at the forefront of the communities priorities. Additionally, new major content such as the Imperial City and Orsinium are also a main priority.

I believe once these issues have been properly addressed and the community is content with these changes and fixes, we will start to see more ideas such as yours supported.

    Not seeing this happening, ever.
They are hoping to make money by selling armor-based costumes like the ordinator or lion guard, or argonian stuff... so why make their work in this regard obsolete, and their hopes for profit futile, through spending a good deal of paid developer time to allow people to make better "armor-like disguises" on their own?

In a similar notion, some people have mentioned about "social clothing slots", like they had in Age of Conan. Again, that might short-circuit their costume sales, so I wouldn't hold my breath...

What I -could- see in this regard would be an option to assing costumes by armor location... as in "take chest from this costume, take legs from that costume, hide shoulderpieces altogether, take boots from that costume again, etc.". Also not too likely to be worth the effort they'd have to spend to program it I'd think...

I'd much rather see a function that allows people to adjust the visuals of dropped sets, akin to the "make gear imperial" feature for imperial characters (and yes, I know it doesn't work on found sets... but it could be made to...). Just find/buy the motiv, have a high enough crafting skill, use up bit of resources, possibly some rare ones too, and have a "destroy" chance like with tempers that can be reduced by using more resources...

But even that is no big thing for me, I personally am okay with having to struggle to find decent looks - it certainly would make crafted sets more attrtactive and thus crafters more in demand...

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/156867/detailed-crown-store-suggestion-custom-costume-slots-lots-of-pictures-to-explain-how/p1

my old suggestion still stands as a option that would sell well alongside unique costumes.

the costumes they currently sell have unique aspects to them, and they would do better focusing on selling more like it while giving us the custom slots for a premium per slot. 2000 crowns for a costume that is exactly what you want it too look like? crazy but i know ALOT of people would consider that price good.
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.
