So, my main has this Northwind disguise that he picked up in the Rift. But, y'know, he has a lot of disguises, and this one isn't really compelling enough to merit an inventory slot.
So just destroy it, right? I know,
that's what I thought too! But no.
I
can destroy it, sure ... but when I log out and back in, it's
right back there in his inventory. Every single time.
Here's a video demonstrating its destruction and terrifying reappearance. Since this requires logging out and back in, everything from :12 to :47 is a load screen, for which I apologize. But you can see that it's destroyed, and then (35 seconds of load screen later) it's back.
I'm curious if anyone else has seen any kind of behavior like this, from a disguise or from any other item in their inventory.
For the record here are the things I've tried to get rid of it:
1. Destroy it from inventory.
Result: Restored to inventory after relogging.
2. Equip, and destroy it from costume slot.
Result: Restored to inventory after relogging.
3. Deposit to vault.
Result: Stays in vault. But when I relog, it's also in my main's inventory.
4. Deposit to vault, put into another character's inventory, and have that character destroy it.
Result: Permanently gone from *that* character's inventory. Restored to my main's inventory after relogging.
5. Deposit to vault, have another character retrieve and equip it.
Result: Other character looks like a Northwind. Still restored to my main's inventory after relogging.
6. Drink three beers in rapid succession.
Result: Disguise remains in my character's inventory, but I find it less bothersome.
