Saw a level 49 in a veteran 5 zone tearing through mobs...

On PS4. Now, I've been around since PC launch, I have a pretty well optimized character in epic gear at vet 5 right now, and those mobs can do enough damage to keep me on my toes. What the heck was going on here, and how'd he even get into the area at 49? I thought veteran zones didnt open up till 50.

they open after the quest line is completed. i see these players in the V5 zones, not so much in the VR5 zones lol.

did you record anything? what class was it? any idea on skills?

Veteran zone open when you kill molag bal.

Access to Cadwells silver is only dependent on finishing the main quest, which can be done as early as level 45 iirc.

after main quest is over you get to go to silver..vr1 to vr 5..but some one with one of those op builds still can do it easily..i can solo public dungeon of my level...and my build by no means is a great one.

Champion points. Level doesn't matter much once you get near 50. As long as you have the gear, the skill, an optimized build and a *** load of champion points from your other vet characters this s not a surprise. That player probably was a PC player who had multiple vet characters who all earned champion points for his first ps4 alt.

There's another thread (can't find it now) where people are trying to determine if Cadwell's Gold can be completed by VR1. Wonder if this person might make it if they are only doing main quests.

I agree the most likely scenario is probably an alt who is geared up and using champion points from the player's veteran characters.

Yep I did this on my last toon.

I have ~300 CPs and finished the main quests at lvl 45 went straight to the rift to grind to v2 then blasted through all of Cadwell's Silver quests and was in Cadwell's gold at v3.

If you're surprised about this then telling you that I was burning down v10 mobs at v3 in bankorai may also come as a surprise

Edit: In this regard the CS was a success in that it makes alt leveling much easier than it was pre-CS.

Shinjis Scarp is also good for grinding providing you can kite a ton of ogres, went from vr6 to vr10 in a few days there.

leveling is relatively easy in most games... the challenge usually comes with end game content... and level was harder at launch..

Time is the only obstacle to leveling. Solo experience has no challenge anymore.

I still get a good challenge out of soloing the zone bosses and dungeons =p

It depends on class, Sorc and DK are pretty much solo class. NB is definitely hardest. Never played Templar yet.

ya at vet lv 1 you should be able to smoke any vet stuff fairly easily if you really want to. I miss the early days where leveling and questing was a bit more of a challenge :'(

Yea, I don't really "get" the design choice of champion points being account wide.

IIRC it's was specifically to make leveling alts easier at the request of many altoholics. In this regard the CS is a success. Now in terms of game-balance not so much.
