When is the next content patch/DLC coming?

This game is great but it seems like the developers seem to leave the community in the dark a lot. Have they told us when we can expect some new content (not that I currently need any). I hope they are not like the DCUO devs and are more like the FFXIV dev (constanty updating game and keeping players informed, etc.)

The next update is Imperial City. We will know more about it on July 13th in the next ESO Live stream. It will probably be 1 1/2 to 2 months before it goes live.

Please see this thread about the effective difference between patches, updates, and DLC, as they are pretty different in how ZOS talks about them and what they mean for the game.

The way they were talking during ESO Live and in other threads here, they are talking that Update 7 will come with Imperial City. I even asked the question directly, about whether Update 7 was part of Imperial City as was being implied by ZOS, but received no response.

Isn't that troubling? The vagueness of the developers? I get the feeling they are overwhelmed and have no real strategic plan for the long-term vitality of this game. Sadly.

On July 13 they are releasing more info about the coming Update 7 which might include Imperial City (as well as other changes). More here about Update 7 from ESO Live info.

I would be willing to bet that not even ZoS knows the answer to this question.

ZoS is always very vauge with us when it comes to patches, maintenance, updates and the like. Could be for various reasons. Personally I believe they just have no idea.

This is the first game I've ever played where patch notes are posted during or after patches, not before. Most developers let their players know what they're fixing or doing ahead of time, not after.

Technically it would be the other way around. Imperial City is coming with Update 7. As in, Update 7 is a major content update, and that content will include Imperial City. What is not known is whether Imperial City will be a "DLC"; ie, whether you would have to pay for it; but you will still have to download it anyway.

As we will learn a lot about the IC on Monday, even the first date(s) regarding it, it seems obvious that IC is part of Update 7.
