Word of advice for those in console group finder.

If you are queuing up for vet dungeons, please follow these simple guidelines.

If you queue as a tank, be a tank, not a dps in heavy armor. Have taunt(s) on your bar, know what a taunt is and how/when to use it.

If you queue as a healer, be a healer, not a dps with a couple pathetic healing abilities on your secondary bar. Know your heals and buffs and how they best fit a situation.

If you queue as a dps, you better blow things up, nothing is worse than seeing someone dps with 1h and shield or a resto staff.

Fact is, once you start doing vet dungeons you have to put in some effort to be part of a team. Unless you are vr14 with decent gear already you won't be just mashing buttons and facerolling everything like you did 1-50.

Too many times (15 out of 17 group finder groups) I have run into these situations. It's a waste of my time and your time. I will immediately leave the group, and that will trigger a cascade effect where others leave right after.

Decide what you want to do and stick to it or stay in regular dungeons where you might get away with that play style.

As much as I like the freedom ESO's class system offers, at the same time it creates these sort of issues.

My word of advice for those in console group finder is... remove yourself from the queue. You'll never find a group that way; you will be plauged by the eternal twirling circle XD

Honestly, you're probably better off setting up camp outside a dungeon and inviting randoms, joining a guild, or using a 3rd party LFG site--at least until Zeni decides to fix this feature. I would like to use a functional version of Group Finder in the future, but right now I am my own "Finder" of groups.

I totally agree, what would be even better if people just use their fricking Headsets!

I mean, if you are a Xbox One owner, you got a free headset with it, why would you not put it on so you can communicate with your group. it might not be so important on normal dungeons, but it is on Veteran Dungeons!!

Also if you use a headset people can ask/tell you to come into the specific Dungeon they want to start.
i mean this group finder is fun and all, but once a group it fills, i notice it takes a lot of time and management to get everyone in the right dungeon!

This is console Zenimax, make it so that they get a popup to travel to the dungeon if the group has filled maybe?
Also at the moment, the group finder takes way to long to find people, not sure why that is though.

    Cheers,

    Ps.

I just made a post about the group finder, whats wrong with it, and what could be fixed to make it a helpful tool!

its in the Xbox one tech thread, but applies to both consoles!

I rarely use the dungeon finder. I have a guild and we run dungeons together and rotate people in and out.

I see ppl have all 3 roles checked they do this cause they hope they won't have to wait as long
I don't think they understand that once the group finder system finds 4 ppl to fit all 3 roles it groups them together so that person who picks all 3 but is not a tank or healer could be a assign as the tank or healer in the games eyes

Example: u que up and the game finds u a group
Player A: pick all 3 roles but is really only dps
    Player B: pick healer
    Player C: DPS
    Player D: DPS
The game assign player A as the tank cause he pick all 3 roles now this group has no tank

  • redcloud1187_ESO
Both DPS spot and heal spot has been filled that left player A with the tank spot

Both DPS spot and heal spot has been filled that left player A with the tank spot

This is true, but if he is DPS specced, he will go about DPSing no clue that he needs to tank, and since almost no one uses their headsets, it might take a while before they can communicate this mistake!

I made a thread about the group finder, whats wrong with it and what could fix it with a few simple features.

Let me know what you all think!
