Does ESO listen in on the servers?

I was just wondering because I play ESO on the PS4 platform and someone was telling me the other night they mailed him for swearing. It may just be my luck, but sometimes I hear kids with high pitched voices shouting at other players on the servers (obviously far too young to play) and it's got me wondering if ESO ever pick up on this and send mail to the users about allowing children onto the microphones? I agree it may look like a bit of harmless fun, but it does get frustrating when questing.

So your friend get an email about swearing over the voice chat. And you're wondering if ESO has sent emails to users about allowing children to use the microphone....?

Legally you need to be 13 to play any MMO in the USA, every single ToS reflects that. The Mature rating is not enforced.

As for this topic itself..... does ZoS actually listen to voice chats? I remember them saying voice chats have NO logs.

I just wasn't sure. This was the first of me hearing about it the other day that the servers get monitored. I was just wondering, that's all. If they do monitor the servers then that's really good.

Here in the UK it has an 18 rating.

Someone reported your friend. It would take an army of agents to sit in and listen to each and every person's voice chat for profanity and they would have to work around the clock like elves.

As far as I know, a PEGI rating is just a recommendation, but not a legal requirement

was it really a message for "spamming"? that's an in game error because of server data flow problems and a known issue

not likely voice channels are policed ... not by the profanity, verbal violence and racism I heard at the AD vampire shrine a couple of days ago.

I've got into the habit of turning off voice chat every time I log in now
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Your right, PEGI ratings are just recommendations as far as I am aware. I forgot the game had a PEGI rating, my bad.

Yeah the user I was speaking to must have been reported and then mistakenly thought that moderators are listening to chat logs live 24/7. It would be good if they did do this (reducing cyberbullying, scams etc) but I can imagine it would be a very tiring job and from my experience so far all the players I have met (save maybe one) have been mature.

They do play the game and mingle amongst us common folk. If one of them hears something in one of the chat channels, it is possible that some action could come of it.

I doubt they listen outside of what they happen to hear while in the game.

An employee could've been playing the game and heard him. Contrary to common belief, they do play their own game.

From some of the choices the company makes, I could wish more higher ups played it. And were RPers. But that's just me
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

It's not ESO eavesdropping that you should be worried about. There is a far more dangerous organization listening to us,

I got a letter from them the other day.
