I've seen a lot of people talking about grinding 2 more VR ranks to VR16..


But my VR14 exp bar has been full for a very, very long time already.
Does this means it will automatically grant me VR15, so I'll just have to grind that 1 lvl?

Currently you are not able to exceed the xp needed for VR14. Xp you earn currently earns you champion points only. Once the cap is raised you will be able to earn XP which goes toward your level and champion points but everyone will have to level to VR15 and then VR16. This was stated in a Dev post on the ESO sub reddit and I'm sure you will see clarification by July 13 posted here as well.

The entire point of level cap increases in MMO's are to give players at level cap a new challenge and new rewards to earn over time. The xp will have to be earned and so will the new stronger gear by fighting more powerful opponents.

I fully understand what you're saying here and in all honesty, I don't mind the extra ranks.

But I remember my VR14 exp bar being empty when I first hit it. Now, it has been full already for a long time.
So it does mean i'll have to do my VR14 exp all over again.

(just to clarify; I wouldnt mind grinding that lvl, it's just a question )

And you can gain the XP to level these 2 Vet ranks by ONLY doing Cadwells Gold and Silver backwards.

No you have to lvl both Ranks.

It was like this at least with v12 to v14 Change.

Once any skill reaches max level the experience bar is displayed as full. For example, say Fighters Guild skill line reaches max level at 10, then the experience bar will stay full. It appears as if you've earned nearly enough experience to gain another level, but I assume that's just to show you can't actually earn any more experience toward that skill.

The same can be said of Veteran Rank 14. The experience bar stayed full once leveling out of Veteran Rank 13, and simply had the number change to 14. I'd guess that when the changes are implemented, all VR 14 players will have that experience bar cleaned and you'll have to level up those final two ranks.

Not much to complain about here. Two veteran ranks is a cake walk compared to what some of the CP grinders put themselves through.

that's false, we actually started with an empty VR14 exp bar. which slowly filled up.
That's why I've asked the question in the first place..

Hmm, they must have changed it. Only recently got a toon to VR14 and the exp bar has been max ever since.

Anyway, the grind for all the new gear sets will be way worse anyway

When they granted CP they used the VR level plus the amount of XP gained beyond that level - which included VR14+ but limited to gaining what would have been VR15 (if it existed).

So, if they used the same mechanism for VR15/16, everyone who was given 70CP when it first came in would already be VR15. As that was months ago it's fair to say they would in fact be VR16 by now...

There would be so many VR15s running round from day 1 it wouldn't make much sense

There probably will be in any case - how long to grind 2VR? - but what's interesting will be the availability of gear, food, potions, hopefully even new crafting levels...

the 2 ranks grind will be peanuts anyway. With the exp potions/scrolls, exp buff from patch and decreased exp needed for new ranks it will be even faster.
The grind for gear wil be way, way longer imo.

Imagine you'll have to get all new top gears for 4 races, either stam or magicka based..
Taking in count the extremely high costs an EU server -for example- Ravager gear, we'll need a couple million to assemble and improving all our sets.

Well, it would be a bit faster to insta hit VR15, so that would be nice.

talking CP's :'( ...

ill prob grind some new toons for CP's.
gives more CP + gold which we'll need for the new update as well.

Mine worked the same way. I'm thinking it might be an addon that made it appear that way though. I use an upgraded experience bar addon, and I know sometimes it displays info that the regular bar would not - such as the bar filling up for the first time after passing V14.

That's why I've asked the question in the first place..

@Lazyness I can not speak for how it USED to be, but as of 3 days ago, as soon as you hit VR14 the XP bar shows full I never had a VR14 before though, so wouldn't know.

but.....WHATS THE POINT? There is NO REASOn to add 2 more vet levels except to screw us out of our gear that we just upgraded to legendary.
