I have a couple friends who would like to try ESO:TU on the PC. I dont want to just let them go crazy with my characters or play on my account. They do not want to spend $60 on a game they may or may not enjoy playing. I suggest a 7 day free trial of the game. Would probably need some kinds of limits like limited to reaching level 20. Maybe limited chat and mail also. Ill leave that stuff to ZOS. I just think if there was a trial available it would attract more customers to the game.

I'd rather have ZOS continue to focus on getting IC released sometime soon. Just let them play on your pc, or they should do what mostly everyone does....youtube search...."insert video game name here" gameplay.

First off sharing accounts is against the TOS. Second I have all my character slots full so they wont be able to start from the beginning. Thirdly not everyone can get a feel for game play from a you tube video. hence why all other games have free trials or demos. Lastly I seriously doubt someone who sets up trial accounts is working on IC.

I'm actually surprised they didn't try this prior to B2P. Perhaps "free weekends" instead of free trials.

It probably doesn't matter though. I expect ESO to go F2P by the end of next summer.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Do most video games give you a trial before you drop 60 dollars on a piece of crap game? Not saying ESO is a piece of crap cuz I love/hate this game :D I have wasted more money on buying games I didnt like, then on games I ended up liking. Eso is one of the games I fell in love with. If they are going to play on PC, I suggest they buy it through steam as steam has a new refund policy that if for any reason you do not like a game you bought, you can refund it.

Obviously certain restrictions apply, no more than 2 weeks of owning the game, no more than 5 hours of game time etc etc. But it is an option

Free trials don't usually come so soon after a game launches (little over a year for PC, but little over a week or two for console), and they need careful consideration if they are not to be a recipe for gold selling. I've no doubt that once the dust has settled on the console launch and the next major update with additional content, a trial is something to which ZOS will give serious consideration. In the meantime it would be an unwelcome distraction from more important things.

If the OP's friends can watch him play then fine, if not then they'll have to decide for themselves whether to get the game or not, as they do with every other purchase they make outside of gaming. I regret the day the word "free" was brought into gaming language, it has a lot to answer for one way and another!
