Sorcerer Pets?

Hi, I really like my pet classes in games which is why I originally went with sorcerer, however I find that you have little to no control over them and they die really easily, is there a viable way to use them or should I just use other abilities?

Don't know if you're aware of it, but you can press Y and left mouse click to tell them to attack a target and Y and right mouse click to stop and return to you.

The biggest problem with pets, is that they waste a lot of your potential, as they require many slots to be used and of course they die too quickly, which is the main problem with the twilight and the damage of the twilight is not worth loosing 2 skill slots.
I'm running a pet build currently and if played right, they can be good (in 1v1 pvp at least) I also use my twilight in dungeons for 1-2k more dps. Don't see another way to increase my DPS as a Sorcerer.

In pvp, pets are extremely easy to counter, which is the biggest problem of the Storm atronach ultimate, making it basically useless in all situations. It has short range, is CCable, can't move and the damage is.... well, not good. I can only recommend the volatile familiar for pvp, that's where it shines. And the twiligh is only usefull for some extra DPS in dungeons, especially the restoring Twilight, giving you and all your allies 10% more Magicka regen. Which is pretty usefull for most tanks, who have high regen and profit A LOT from 10% more Magicka regen. And healers of course.

Don't tell me, there is no way to control them with a controller ? O.o Well, then you should instantly abandon pets from your bar and never ever look at them again.

I would DESPAIR, if I couldn't give these easy commands to my pets, they are essential. Pets do what they want otherwise. A funny thing is, when you kill a player in pvp and he respawns at a keep, your pets will sometimes run to the keep and search for the player again because he is still their target. So OP, if you are on console, don't use pets.

By pressing right analogue stick several times in a row.

unstable clannfear + summoned matriarch + hardened ward is a very stromg combination.

put the atronach on top and you are unstoppable.

just keep an eye that your shield will be always active.

my first destro bar for dolmen and bosses on my v2 sorc:

cfrag
matriarch
cleanfear
hardened ward
crushing shock

my restro second bar:
overload
harness magicka
matriarch
cleanfear
shattering prison
healing ward

that destro bar is my bar right now, instead I switch up between a few skills I want to level up, cfrag makes it even easier

i use swaps addon that enable you to have multiple abilities bar with preset binded on keys: you can change out of combat with one key just before the end of the quest (i toogle the preset for levelling, where i put all the skill to learn). remember to swap again the preset for combat after the quest rewards dialog.

another addon, Harvens All Experience Bars, let to have on window the skills xp indicator, so you can see when it's full levelled, and change the preset.

So lucky, I'm on PS4.
Just having 2 (small) hotbars compared to FFXIV where I can have dozens is driving me nuts.
