Nord?

I like to be a little tanky in mmos, i like to play solo and never was into glass cannons too much.

I am going DK archer and i thought about instead using survivability armor sets in endgame, to go Nord for a little survival (moreover with upcoming buff) and then going full damage on armor sets without worrying about survival anymore.

Is it a good idea for my playstyle?
As bosmer or redguard i feel that i need to compensate squishiness with gear...

Also, i like nord lore and looks...

Nord passive can be very good for next patch. That 6% damage reduction and some CP on top of the upcoming 50% reduction and maybe skills like deep slash for extra 15%, plus passive armor/spell resist dmg reductions etc when all stacked it can be crazy good.

As a Bosmer or Redguard you won't be significantly more squishier than a Nord, Nords have no real benefits to DPS just health benefits which makes Nords great tanks and the new update that increases Nords health even further.

However as a Tank build in this game your stamina pool is quite important for blocking many attacks and Bosmer and Redguards passives will certainly help your tankiness in that respect.

If you run out of stamina as a tank you will die regardless of how much additional health you have.

If I was you I'd go Imperial for increase in both health AND stamina and the amazing Red Diamond passive which restores your health when you do melee attacks. The more stamina you have the more 'full damage' you can output, the quicker you down enemies the less you have to worry about your own survivability.

Nords are going to be a decent choice in the next update. Imperials will still be better though since I'm sure they'll still have more health than Nords, except they'll have a ton more stamina; which means more blocking and damage. As far as rugged goes, that's mainly useful for medium armor wearers since the hard cap isn't that difficult to obtain will full heavy and sword and board.
