choosing race-question

Im new to the game and was originally gonna try a nord dragonknight but i keep reading thats it bad, both for stam and magicka builds. Is there any type of class and build that is good for the nord race? Dont want to choose a race and then 30 levels later find out im doomed to be underpowered because of that choice.
If i want to go dps magicka templar would Breton be a decent choice?

First off, unless you are a really competitive PvPer or a die-hard min-max PvE player, any race/class combo is absolutely fine. However, there are some combos that are better than others just because of how the racial passives are.

Races that are considered great for Magika-based builds:

Altmer
Breton
Dunmer
Imperial (sort of)


Races that are considered great for Stamina-based builds:

Imperial
Bosmer
Redguard
Dunmer


Races we've been told are getting some tweaks soon to help them out:

Nords
Khajiit
Argonians
Orcs


However, like I said before, unless you are really looking to squeeze every last drop of performance out of your character, then you can do any sort of combo and still do fine.

For Templar, High Elf if your going Destro Staff and Magic, and a Breton can work for a Magic Templar too.

For a Nord, not sure what you would do with him.

Now, one thing to keep in mind, unless your doing PvP or Trials, you don't need the strongest build to to successful at the game. Anything can be made to work. Heck, most builds can work in PvP if you approach things correctly. 1v1 and 1vMany might have some issues with a poor build. It's only Trials that get hard to complete as fast as possible with sub optimal builds.
