A few random thoughts regarding game balance
If I may, I would like to take a few moments to play arm chair developer and pass along a few ideas to the developers:
1) Having re-thought the former emperor passives, I believe it may indeed be beneficial to remove these from the game. This will remove character progression that will be unattainable to 99% of the players.
2) You could open a new skill line at alliance rank (insert number here) that is similar to the former emperor passives. It could be called commander or something similar. This would give more incentive for long term pvpers. Yes, this could result in more farming tactics but that is a matter in itself.
3) There is a bug with bound armor that allows it to be active without actually having it on the bar. This may be used in conjunction with one of the sorcerer ultimates that provides a third bar. I am trying to replicate this to pass along to the developers but have yet to discover how.
4) Hard caps could be removed and soft caps could be implemented. This would allow someone to really focus on one area but they would be lacking in others.
5) Rather than 4 or with 4, dodge roll cost can be increased. Blocking cost can be increased (pve tanks may flame me for this one). Shield absorption can be decreased. Break free cost can be decreased. Damage can be reduced across the board. This should facilitate an increased TTK.
6) Disallow several abilities to be used at once in the form of a macro. It is passed off as latency or an urban legend at the moment, but it is absolutely happening. I have a trusted friend that told me he uses this and even went into how he sets it up. This could be touchy as tweaking Global cool downs could affect animation canceling.
Just a few thoughts and my opinions only ..... Let me know what you think
