Hello guys! Im trying to gear up my Stamina Templar. Im wanting to go with 5 medium and 2 heavy... which slots for heavy should I use? Im not sure which gives the best defense. I think Chest might be the best but I could be wrong.

Any help appreciated :)

Chest is definitely the best. I don't remember for sure which is the second best, but I think it's the helmet. Either that or the legs...

Chest ,Head or Legs.Since the large pieces have the most armor.

There might be some other factors to consider at end game such as good dropped sets with really bad traits but this shouldn't be a problem for you.

Since heavy on large pieces = more armor\spell resistance, the larger pieces are helm, chest and legs
So I recommend chest and legs as heavy

Thanks guys Ill definitely use chest then, ill more than likely use legs too then unless I see a helm that looks aesthetically pleasing :)

For my stam build templar I use chest and legs heavy, and the rest medium.
Good sets are 5 Hundings Rage (crafted), and the rest Dreugh King drops or Ravager pieces are good. If you don't yet have access to those or not wanting to spend money if not at max level, then Ashen Grip 3 or 4 piece is useful and easy to craft.

Also bear in mind when adding enchantments that Chest, Legs, Head, and Shield get full value enchants - the other armor pieces get I think 40% enchant value.

If I get 5 piece Hundings rage which bits are best to craft for it? and which bits are best to craft for ashens grip? Ive nearly got enough traits now to start crafting :)

Yes, Hundings and Ashen are good. Are you using DW? If you're then craft 1 of the DW weapons Ashen Grip and the other Hundings. Then your other weapon slot craft Hundings. For Armor craft 4 Hundings and 3 Ashen Grip. I would suggest crafting the Head / Shoulders Ashen Grip because of the Undaunted sets. I usually only PVP so someone may need to help me out, but the Undaunted Sets are Head / Shoulder 2 piece sets only and I believe you can start getting them at VR1.

You want the 5 piece Hundings so by crafting Ashen Grip on your Head/Shoulders and one other random armor piece like belt you can replace 2 of your Ashen with the Undaunted dungeon set and still have 2 pc Ashen when you're DW'ing.

For non end-game gear it doesn't really matter too much which pieces are which, but be aware that for end game if you want set pieces from dropped sets, they don't exist for every slot, so you will want to plan around that. My eventual plan for my stam templar is to work towards:

5 piece Hunding's Rage (crafted, all armor is medium): Head; Feet; Hands; Waist; Weapon (I use 2H and bow, you can be more flexible if Dual Wield - for DW I would go for feet, hands, waist, 2x weapon for the 5 piece, that will allow you blood spawn head and shoulders instead of just the shoulders)
5 piece Ravager set (PvP vendors, armor pieces heavy): Chest, Legs, Neck and 2x Rings
1 piece Blood Spawn (Undaunted key drop, medium armor) shoulder piece.

Ravager may take a while for me to acquire, it is those pieces I currently replace with Ashen Grip (which is crafted hence a cheap and easy option), although Dreugh King is another good dropped set that is worth having for 2/3/4 piece bonuses for a stam/melee type build.
