What can I do with my friends, exactly?

Okay, so, I got a head start on this game over my friends and I'm ~lvl24. My friends are levels 12 and 7. We've all joined each other twice now and it just hasn't been fun for us. We're having great times on our own -but not together- and that's a real bummer.
I'm a bit of a completionist, so I've probably completed every possible quest up until this point, which begs the question: what can I possibly do with my friends other than follow them around and swallow their enemies whole when they need help? Are we going to be forced into pvp for a solution?

✭Cyrodiil is really the only area to play with friends when you have significant level disparities. You really don't get the 'Skyrim with friends' experience from that, it's usually the 'ganked by griefers and wondering what just happened' experience. -
Fartman✭✭✭This is how FFXIV was for me. My friend bought it likea month after me and I played with him once and just couldn't do it again because all i did was follow him around telling him where to go and answering his questions. You gotta go up together I'd imagine or else it'd be no point.
