One of the main aspects of any MMORPG is community trading. It makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever that there is a ban on trading discussion within the forums. I have started this thread to gather the views and opinions of the masses and to see if everyone else is disappointed that we have to go to a third party website in order to advertise our wares and services as artisans. I also think the guild store system is very inadequate by itself in allowing an individual to sell and advertise.

Hopefully if there are enough players who have similar feelings as myself, and choose to voice their opinions this will change.

We don't need a functional trading system on the forums, we just need a functional trading system in the game.

I support a trading forum thread. I would rather that kind of stuff takes place out of the game.
Don't pollute a text chat feature with it or better yet just do it on the forums.
    I'm with you buddy.

I would Support OP, But it will be too fragmented because of the megaservers/alliances, so they'd have 6 megaservers, with 3 alliances per, which means 18 different groups of people trying to trade and meet on the forums. Wouldnt work (id imagine alot of the reason there isnt one)

For console we need text chat as a way of trading, that will certainty help atleast.

It would not be so hard to have 3 forum areas (one for pc and one for each console) to divide the trading up into. From there, the users could handle their own trading posts by simply titling it properly with their alliance and server. At the very least do not ban trading posts on the forums!!!! I have never known a game of this type to do so, it is honestly very frustrating. To make it worse, the in game system is so flawed it is hard to help others who really need specific artisans for specific things.

    Global auction house = No

Alliance auction house = Hmmm...maybe. Probably will lead to monetary chaos.

Guild stores = No. The system does work ideally, makes it a pain in the ass to find things, and only the guild leaders of the trade guilds are the ones making the money.

Personal vendors - It would be interesting. I'm not saying each person gets a location in the world, but some system where I'm making the money for my work and not losing a percentage to the guild and the tax man. The difference between this and an auction house would be that I have a certain location all of the time and thus my customers would always return to the same location to find me, but you do have to come to my store and not just an auction house.

Chat trading = I see this as no different than someone yelling on the street selling stuff. It's fine for the PC but for consoles without a chat box, I can see that sucking.
