Account Not Found

I am playing on the Xbox One NA server and I am attempting to invite one of my friends into my guild, yet when I enter his Gamertag, I get a message in the corner that says "Account Not Found." He also does not appear in my in-game friends list. I was wondering if anybody knows why this occurs and/or any ways to fix the issue so he can join. Thank you!

Is it possible that your friend was offline or set his account to appear offline? Both would prevent you from inviting him.

I had previously asked him if he was appearing offline and he assured me he was not. It is weird for both of us since neither of us are showing up on each other's friends list. He also told me that when he tries to send me in-game mail, he gets the same message: "Account not found." I can guarantee I am appearing online as well.

I am having this same issue. i cannot join this persons guild because my account was not found. I have read multiple threads and none have got answers some I'm getting pretty annoyed. have you had any luck yet?
