Meteor/Shooting star. remove knockdown and dot and just increase the damage slightly?

reason being is i think that the knockdown check and the dot effect are what help lag up the game when dealing with a zerg.

    my vote is kinda bias but none the less i do feel those 2 checks in themselves on a huge crowd cause alot of issue, i'd also say increase the cost slightly to compensate the direct damage

    No since people starting using it more and once I figured something out, it has stop knocking me back, its simple enough to avoid trhe knockback effect.

    the knockback itself isnt the issue it's the effort and strain on the server needing to proccess more changes, the meteors currently direct damage, knockback, dot AND depending on the morph, debuff/grant ulti.

    now 4 things is no big deal but when you start having many people at once slamming them out. thats alot of things going on at once (not including the change in hp caused) and with many going off alot it can slowly hammer the server, most AOE abilities are the same so if you remove alot of the pointless or not needed actions maybe we can see just alittle more server stability

    So let's randomly tweak abilities because it could be that a specific part of a specific ability is causing an especially great amount of lag...
    If we are so far to test such things on the live server (and we certainly should be), then ZOS could just disable that ability temporarily.

    You know meteor had everything but the dot since launch right? Meteor doesn't cause lag it's a bunch of people that have causation backwards.

    There are dozens of AoE DoTs in this game. Heck, Caltrops procs at twice the rate as Meteor and lasts almost 3x as long. It is no more strain on the server to calculate low damage DoTs than high damage DoTs. If they can make all these other DoTs work, they can make Meteor work.

    I would guess the problem is not Meteor itself but simply that is a good skill and gets cast a lot. If they nerf it, some other skill will become the "go to" skill in PvP and that will become the new skill that gets blamed for lag. I suppose they can just nerf every skill until we are down to nothing but light and heavy attacks. Then staff attacks will probably get blamed because they are the most colorful and noticeable.

    I would guess that it has to do with the ridiculous animation which can be seen for meters above but that is just my guess

    The animation does look cool tho
