Can't heal self or be healed within PvP

A friend and I are experiencing glitches where we can't heal our wounds ( our health will heal to say half-way and then stop healing). Can someone look into this, or is there a way to fix it?

You have been debuffed. Your healing ability has been decreased by having a negative effect applied, by weapon, skill, or siege engine. Lethal Arrow, Dark Flare, and Meatbag Catapults are the most likely culprits. You will need to purge the effect or wait for it to wear off before you will have full health again.

The most commonly used cure for this effect is the "Purge" skill from the Alliance War skill line. This applies to nearby allies without them having to do anything. The Templar's Purify skill is very effective, but requires allies to activate the synergy.

Nightblades can morph their cloak skill to remove the effects on themselves. There are likely other ways to remove debuffs that aren't coming to me right now.

Temporary effects do not always appear on the character menu, at least on PC. I don't know about the console platforms.
