Is it terrible that I keep starting over?

I've got multiple characters on both servers, in the meantime I keep seeing people already at lvl 15-20. I just wanted to try all classes and really get a feel for what I like. Should I focus on leveling one guy or does racing to 50 really matter?

Just enjoy it man lol. TBH I have done this exact thing!

We will all have multiple 50's by the time any DLC hits so just take your time and enjoy the game I say.

Do whatever you like. I level new characters all the time to 50 and delete them to reroll others. It's totally up to you.

That's called alt-itis.

Don't race. Racing is wasting the game. You get value by actually playing and experiencing the game.

I understand where you are coming from. I have made 7 alts already, and have finally chosen the character to level with. Don't worry about others being higher level, just enjoy the game your way. The level cap is 50 anyways, so you can always catch up. Also some players that are speeding through the quests will probably quit once they hit level 50 too.

this game is not multiple character friendly, you will have to do all the quests all over, and none of your achievements are account wide so theres really no point in having more than one character, pick a good base class and use any variety of weapon skills you want, and reset anytime you want

Play how you want.. as long as you having fun and enjoining your game make alll 8 right off the bat..

Me im level 24 now..only reason is "My Game Style" will come at level 50'ish when i can harvest all resorces needed to supply my master crafters and many many alts i will raise lol

A lot of people had a whole year to decide what they wanted to do. LVL 15 is just the tip of the iceberg perhaps you haven't seen them yet but there are already vr14's waiting for you to oogle them in town. Be sure to let them know that you are in awe of their awesomeness or they may become sad.

Make one of each class, play each individual one as you feel the need and stop re-making characters. That way you progress somewhat each time and can experience the game at your own pace.

Level cap is actually 63. There isn't even a level 50. You go straight from 49 to VR1.

Ithink a lot of console players are under the impression that lvl 50 is endgame?
I truly hope someone broke the news to them....

I agree for the most part, but the value in having more than one character is getting to experience combat with different class skills. That actually adds some replayability.

You are right. Here is what the ESO Wiki says,

"XP can still be earned by characters after they reach level 50. They are used to advance characters after the Veteran Ranks are reached after Level 50. The current level cap is Veteran Rank 14.

Responding to player feedback, the max level will be set at level 50 in update 1.7, removing Veteran Ranks entirely. After level 50, players will earn Champion Points, which can be spent across three constellations (Warrior, Mage and Thief). Each constellation will have 3 seperate trees, with 4 abilities in each."

Agreed. This game has no endgame PVE which is why the road from V1 to V14 is so long. Once you get to V14, you craft a set of epic v14 gear and you're done. No gear or raid progression. You can go straight into all the content. There's no content you can't do with craft v14 gear. Its quite sad really.

I knew about the vet ranks, I read everything I could find online before pre ordering. I said race to 50 bc I assumed the goal in pvp was to get to vet ranks asap to have an edge.

I keep switching too. I have 7 characters between 4 and 9. I think I'll stick with my level 9 but that could change at any moment.

This is my third characters, Im having alot more fun now than I had when I was making my second char, as everything was empty, I had to solo everything.

Yeah I do the same. I've made 4 character since launch and gotten them all to level 15-20. Now I'm just playing whichever one I feel like playing at the time. I got to end game on PC so I know what's ahead of me, but now I'm just relaxing and experimenting a bit. The journey is proving to be enjoyable.

I did a lot of research before starting the game, watched numerous videos and researched numerous builds. My first character was a complete flop, I didn't enjoy playing at all. My second character turned out to be exactly what I wanted, but didn't like the 'character' I was playing, so created a third, Dunmer Dragonknight, who is now at level 20 and I'm having a blast with. Sometimes it does take some time to play a variety and see which you like best... and sometimes... like me, you have to enjoy the CHARACTER you're playing in order to enjoy the game. Probably why I spend about 45 minutes in character creation, and even then, sometimes I reach a point that I just stop liking the character and have to delete them and start over.

I use to be a rerollaholic but I that all changed when I dug down and made an interesting character and forced myself past my usual reroll threshold (about level 20 in most games) and the end game is a ton of fun (satisfaction not guaranteed)

If you get a feeling of all classes, you will later benefit more because for example in PvP you know what skills the enemy will be using.

No rush....you dont want to get to the end of the game in 1 week :P

Speaking as an altoholic, I would say that ESO is not particularly alt-friendly as MMOs go.

Partly this is because of the long veteran grind once you hit 50 - reaching 50 is easy but it's only one third of the total journey).

Partly it's because so much of the game's progression is not account-wide - achievements, mount training, ranks, titles etc.

But this doesn't mean you should initially focus on just one character.

I would advise not to rush one character to 50. Play all four classes to something like level 20 in both PVE and PvP and see which you prefer. Try out some different weapons and builds. When you have an idea of which you like, then take that character all the way to 50 and beyond, because it's a long journey.

Welcome to the club OP, done the same and finally found the character I like most. Good thing about it I have 4 characters that give me crafting material every day and makes it much better.

So far I have deleted 4 characters and at some time in future 1 or 2 more that give me material will end up gone only because I hate their names. One guy I deleted was hard for me I swear he looked just like the Undertaker from WWE!

Also extra characters are great to have as mules. Just on PC/MAC it is easier because there are addons that show you what each character has on them.

There is no reason to rush to end. Unless you are really into PvP, I allow my son to do that not me, am an EXPLORER!

I play two accounts, both subbed and I'm still exploring new characters on occasion. I have one character at vet rank (currently vet 2) who has finished the main quest. The truth is that I will never 'settle down with a main character' as I LIKE playing my female orc/sorc/tank (and my spouse plays her sister - and BTW they are both HOT). She's about 28th, it's her brother (younger brother) who is my Vet 2. His mentor (in the House of Dibella) is an Altmer who just hit 43rd last night.

And I have three characters that are still in Cold Harbor; two in EU (since I'm so close to maxing out my NA accounts - I figured why not start charactes for when the NA maintenance is going on) and one on my secondary account (I'm using a dunmer template to create a Maormer - but now that I have her how I like, I'm considering rerolling all over again because I think her personality would make a better nightblade than Sorc).

Play how you want. That's what you'll enjoy most and that's really why we are all 'here'.

Well, don't rush to 50 for the PvP either. I think some of the best PvP currently is in the non-veteran 1-49 campaign. The battle leveling system puts most players on a fairly equal footing. And whilst there's some powerful twinks running around, it's not overrun by overpowered, overgeared VR14s like the veteran campaigns seem to be. This is on the PC though, I can't speak for console.

Enjoy it at your own pace. On PC I made numerous characters only to delete them later because I stopped liking how they looked.

This^ slow down and enjoy Blackwater while you can. Vet pvp tends to be a zergy, lagging mess. A lot of vets on PC are actually rolling characters just to play there and when they level out, delete and do it again.

Sounds like the only thing you really need to worry about is the character deletion limit lol

It's up to you how you want to play. I spent the first 2 weeks I had the game making and deleting characters to try to decide what I wanted. Then I settled on 4 permanent characters, and added a 5th not long after.

Sure it's taking me longer to get to level 50 (or any level) than it does for other people. But I don't see that as an issue. I'm enjoying playing the game so I'm in no rush to skip past stuff I'm enjoying to get to something else I may or may not enjoy.
