Tips/Guides to Building Characters?

Hey guys,

Returning player here! I had a friend I used to play with who was really good at building characters, so I'd just tell him what I was looking to do, and he'd do all the number work and put together a good build for me. However, now he's off doing whatever, and so I've lost someone with a wealth of information that I didn't have.

I'm wondering if you guys could tell me where I should start on this whole thing. I've never been particularly good with numbers, but I'd like to learn how to build myself in an adequate manner so that I'm not a hindrance to those around me, and so that I am actually a viable player.

Any thoughts/tips/help/etc on this would be fantastic and hopefully others will benefit from this as well.

Thanks guys!

Honestly, just try out as many skills as you can leveling up. Level as many skills as possible. Once you're closes to max level you'll have a good feel for what skills you like and what your play style is.

Also, always have at least one piece of each armor on (light/medium/heavy) so you have all armor skills maxed (or close) once you get to 50.

Start by searching through the "combat&player mechanics", "players helping players", and "player guides" sections on the forums for what your looking for.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/combat-character-mechanics (Find appropriate threads)

http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/eso-skill-calculator/builds/ (Random builds, some are half decent)

http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/39jmhd/psa_guides_for_every_single_skill_new_players/ (probably one of the best)

Basically take a read through any and all of these (or do a basic google search sort of thing) for specific builds.

First, you need to know what kind of play style you are looking for. that will give u general idea of what you want.
ex: close combat - melee weapons = stamina build
So look in youtube for gameplay about each class skills, in the end ALL classes can be good for everything (you can be a good healer with each class for example, but other could be better at it)
I would say that Templer is good for healer, sorc good for range magicka, dragon knight good for tanking, and night blade good for close combat dps.
But you can be anything with every class, this is what is so good about this game!

After you know what you are looking for, start looking for builds that ppl made already, that will give you general idea of what you need (which skills are most comment for dps, def and etc).
Also you this website to know which skills you can choose:
    http://esoacademy.com/
I found it to be the most updated website.

After you marked for yourself which skills you like, start try making build and think which is best (for all situations).
You welcome to use this website for this:

After you made your choosie, either try it out or post it here to get some comment about it
