Item comparison while selling? (Xbox One)

Is there a way to compare items when selling? It's quite tedious to have to exit the merchant every time you hesitate if the item you're selling is better than the item you're using and go all the way into the inventory. I do believe there was a way to campare items on the PC, but I just played the PC version for a few weeks so don't remember clearly.
