Hey guys, I am putting together a review/feedback article for various gamer magazines/forums. I am looking for fresh faces to introduce to the game who were, like me, unfamiliar with TES lore and earlier games but have MMO backgrounds. ESO for me was a gateway to the rest of the TES franchise as I now own a plethora of collectors items and books. I am looking to do my part as a responsible gamer citizen and help contribute to the game's revenue stream as best I can.

One thing I have toyed with was the idea of putting together "Starter sets" for new players for Cyrodiil (a set of seducer armor, for example). I am not sure if that would be an attractive package for new players to get into PvP but other ideas are certainly welcome.

What do you like about the game that you would like me to share with gamer prospects? Please keep it positive only, and specifically what distinguishes it from the other big MMOs?

If you are a Guild Master and would like to plug your guild's website for recruitment purposes, please also feel free to leave the web address at the bottom of your response.

To be honest ESO does not really need TES lore, this is a generic box MMO with the Elder Scrolls name on it to sell more boxes of an MMO. I guess it can be seen as a "gateway" to the other Elder Scroll games, but if someone is interested in ES lore I would have them start with the single player games.

Your goal is to get people to play PvP and ESO in general it seems... I feel the best way to do that is talk about what ESO is and not what people think it should be. If you go into an article talking about lore people will expect a game like Morrowind or Daggerfall which ESO is not. You should set their expectations to a reasonable level and talk about how because its an MMO you need to put up with GTs like xx69pimpsausexx[CLAN] or people talking real world politics on PC.

I like the game solo level 1-50, VR ranks are horrible and PvP is laggy and unbalanced. The voice acting is great, but the game is very linear you are stuck within about 1/3 of a zone at your level and you are passed from one area to the next through quests. In other ES games you could truly adventure out any place you wanted and still have adventures.

If you truly are writing an article about ESO please add the bad with the good because I'm tired of the articles that are so one sided to both ways ESO is really amazing to ESO is the worst game ever...

Please don't do Bethesda the discourtesy of basing your TES experience on ESO. They are separate, and should remain so. (Like beer and cheesecake - both wonderful in their own way, but best not enjoyed together.)

ESO is good, but it is leagues behind the actual TES series. They took the bits and pieces enough to bring people in and then they did some thing to the remaining part.

Consider it a spin off, loosely based on the TES series, but falling short, nevertheless.

    Regarding your main point:

A lot of guilds will produce a certain number/quality of items for guildies based on guild rank and events attended. You can offer premade's (Like Seducer) or let them pick up a reasonable extent. Getting some gear along with "face time" of fellow guildies with the same agenda in mind (at least for a given evolution), plus the simple safety-in-numbers can make the first few Cyrodiil experiences a bit more palatable.

Start with the smaller things, support, resources, and go from there. (A "tour" showing the various hotspots/delves/choke points can also help.)

You'd be surprised how many people will show up just for the knowledge, even if you're all figuring it out at the same time. Likewise, you can sometimes get a couple "Pros" to offer up some Q&A.

    Welcome, btw.
