Sword+Board Blocking and movement

Hi All,

Is there a difference in the movement speed while blocking if you walk backwards (ie block and press S) compared to forwards (ie turn character around and press W)?

I am taking too long to get out of Manti's spear while tanking and was wondering if it is because i am "reversing" out as opposed to turning around and moving forwards out? I noticed that when we move left or right i get out easily but when moving backwards i battle.

I have all the passives in 1H&S including the last one that increases the movement speed while blocking.

Yes, walking backwards in combat is slower, you're far better off either moving to the side (as you know) or 'dodge-rolling' in any direction.

Thank you very much for the reply! I will definitely do that next time.

I suspected so but only thought about it after we wiped several times because of me dying and then watched videos and always saw the tank turn around to walk out.

I tried dodge rolling which worked 90% of the time but this had a big risk of being one-shotted if he hits me at that exact time while i am dodging (because i am not blocking at that time while dodging) so i preferred not to.

Do you mean the phase when people are down in the hole? In that case just walk to the left or right when the poison thing appears. You should move a lot faster than the rest (if they block too), I always am out of the poison before anyone. But don't walk backwards, walk to the side.
Otherwise you shouldn't have to walk or dodge, blocking is enough generally for his attacks. I only dodge when I get the poison popcorn underneath me.
